The Ludum Dare 28 game jam has since concluded, and it provided over 2000 games from a ton of talented developers. One such developer, George Broussard, the co-creator of the original Duke Nukem, churned out a very interesting title called simply Underdeep.
Underdeep is described as a randomly generated first person shooter, a “Wolfenstein meets Rogue,” and tasks you with braving five levels to eventually recover the “Sword of Badassery.” The theme of Ludum Dare 28 was “You Only Get One,” so naturally you only get one life to finish your journey in Underdeep.
You can play Underdeep right in your browser, but good luck – I’m still trying to make it passed the third level. If you want to check out the other 2000 something games that were created, head on over to the Ludum Dare website.
