Carnivore Studio is working on a very interesting looking game for both Playstation 4 and Vita, called simply Kodoku. No, this isn’t a numbers game – it’s a straight horror game!

The game is described as a horror and exploration experience, and you have to use a mix of stealth and sorcery over weapons in order to survive.

In Kodoku, you step into the shoes of a collector who travels to the island called Kodoku, which is naturally abandoned and haunted by ghosts and things from Japanese folklore. Your mission: to obtain a rare book. As you traverse and explore more of the island, you start to figure out where the source of all the bad things is, and also a way off the god-forsaken island. However, you have to document your findings and return with proof of what you saw.

Gameplay in Kodoku will involve you focusing your senses to gather your bearings, and to avoid threats that may be lying within the shadows. You’ll also have to listen for noises, and possibly distract enemies when need be. Spells will be utilized for combat, and puzzle solving.
