Magicite Looks Tough As Nails

Magicite is an amalgamation of all the best bits of various video games, namely Monster Hunter (crafting), Minecraft (hardcore mode), The Binding of Isaac (true permadeath and randomization) and the Tigsource Forums, as the game is made up of glorious pixels. The game is currently being developed by a single indie developer, Sean Young who is based out of Orlando, Florida.

Despite being on kickstarter for a few days now, the game has met its initial funding in one day, already breaking the $1000 mark. As the game is completely random, more time and money will be spent in various assets that will be in the game, like items, resources, character pieces, and so on.

One of the major differences with Magicite and other crafting/loot focused games is that there will be no constructing of any kind, there will only be randomized towns and instances made up of different biomes. Since the game features permadeath and true randomization, you’ll have to be extra careful as you slowly gather resources for new gear.

You can check out their kickstarter pitch below:

The game features lots of sub-systems that will either reward the diligent or punish those wanting to have their hands held. For instance, there is a hunger system in the game, so make sure you stock up on fresh meat to cook later!

Leveling up will not only increase your stats but help you unlock a myriad of new skills, including triple jumps, lightning bolts and even a werewolf form, just to name a few.

If Magicite seems to be the answer to your burning desire to have even more challenging gameplay experiences, you can pledge to the campaign on his kickstarter page.
