We’ve covered Yatagarasu – Attack on Cataclysm before, a 2D fighting game by veterans of King of Fighters and SNK developers. Their indiegogo campaign has ended and they have hit some of their stretch goals – so the game is going to be fully realized now.
Nicalis, known for their publishing of Cave Story and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, is bringing the game to the Playstation Vita. The biggest change the Vita version will see is that it will be renamed to Legend of Raven, apparently Yatagarasu would’ve been too complicated for westerners.
A 3DS port was originally planned for the game but has since been scrapped in lieu of the Vita port, “due to the incredibly overwhelming response from the fighting gaming community”, Nicalis head Victor Rodriguez said.
The Vita port is actually an enhanced version of the game featuring a new soundtrack, parallax backgrounds and ad-hoc play – online multiplayer has not been confirmed though. The Vita port will be a digital release and it’s scheduled for later this year.
