SEGA Announces Yakuza Restoration

Remember how we talked about SEGA teasing a new Yakuza game when they reveal their Yakuza character popularity results?

Well, SEGA has come through with a very… interesting reveal, although details are few:

The game involves a character named Ryoma Sakamoto, and judging by his traditional clothes and the the small tip of a sword hilt, it’s probably something more in the vein of Yakuza Kenzan, a historical spin off set in the Edo period of Japan, in Kyoto specifically.

Could Yakuza Ishin (Restoration) be yet another prequel that is set in a historical Japanese time? The full reveal is expected with the next issue of Famitsu.
