Rumor: F-Zero GX remaster in development at Next Level Games

F-Zero GX remaster

Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Mario Strikers: Battle League studio Next Level Games is working on an F-Zero GX remaster, according to a new rumor.

The beloved sci-fi remaster is reportedly coming to Nintendo Switch and will “probably” have online multiplayer, according to sources that spoke to YouTuber Nintendo Prime.

F-Zero GX was originally developed and released in 2003 by Sega studio Amusement Vision (now known as Yakuza developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio) for the Nintendo GameCube.

It was a crazy ambitious title with a number of characters, levels, features, and a challenging difficulty curve. It also got a full-fledged arcade release that included memory card support where you could transfer data between the GameCube and arcade releases.

Further details on the rumor – like when we can expect it to release – weren’t announced. As with any rumor though, take it with a hefty grain of salt.
