Nintendo has finally confirmed the date when both 3DS and Wii U online services are shutting down this year.

Both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U online services are shutting down on April 8th at , a firm date compared to the general April window announced prior.

Any update data and both purchased software and downloadable content will remain available “for the foreseeable future.” Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter online services will stay online but “may also end at some point in the future.”

Beginning March 11th at 10 PM Pacific / 1 AM Eastern, it will no longer be possible to combine the Nintendo eShop fund balance between a Nintendo Network ID (the account used on 3DS and WII U) and a Nintendo Account (account on Switch).
