Valiant Teams Up With Blowfish Games to Make Bloodshot Game and More

In a deal penned with Blowfish Studios, Valiant Entertainment plans to make video games based on their comic series in the future.

As stated in the Hollywood Reporter, Valiant Entertainment has joined forces with Blowfish Studios, the dev team behind Siegecraft and Gunscape, to make games starring popular characters from the company’s superhero universe.

This isn’t Valiant’s first rodeo, as they saw a few licensed game releases back in the 90s when they were partnered with Acclaim Entertainment, who went under in 2004. However, the industry has changed quite a bit since then, and it will be interesting to see how things go.

Bloodshot, one of the more likely candidates for a game release, is set to receive its own film (starring Vin Diesel) on Feb. 21.

Founder and CEO of Valiant’s parent company, DMG Entertainment, had the following to say about this deal:

“We’re thrilled to bring Valiant’s characters back into the video game industry and give fans the opportunity to play as their favorite superheroes. Translating these characters and stories to video games could not come at a more exciting time as we introduce the world to the Valiant Universe on the big screen with the Bloodshot release. These games are poised to become further proof of these characters’ immense potential as anchors in pop culture.”

Michael Bolden, Blowfish’s head of publishing, stated this:

“Getting the chance to work with Valiant’s Universe will certainly bring forth some refreshing new experiences for fans and gamers alike to explore. I’ve always been a fan of characters like Ninjak, Bloodshot and X-O Manowar. Valiant’s universe presents a wealth of unique characters and rich stories that we look forward to introducing to fans as an interactive experience worldwide.”

Details are still scant, but we will keep you posted with any news on titles resulting from this deal. Here’s hoping they won’t just be terrible movie tie-in games.
