It seems a few of you thought Nintendo veteran and industry legend Shigeru Miyamoto was joking when he said he wanted “every single person” to buy a Nintendo Switch, as the company has announced a dockless, cheaper Switch unit for Japan in a bid to sell even more units.

The new unit comes with just a Nintendo Switch, a pair of Joy-Cons and their accompanying straps – for 24,980 yen. This is 5,000 yen cheaper than the standard model, which comes with a dock, the Joy-Con grip controller, an HDMI cable, and the very important AC adapter, for 29,980 yen.

You can purchase the dockless Nintendo Switch over on the My Nintendo Store, and you can customize what color Joy-Cons you want.

There are currently no plans to release the dockless Switch outside of Japan – but we’ll keep you guys posted.
