Square Enix Producer Asks Fans to Wait a Bit Longer for Star Ocean 6

It’s been roughly two years since Square Enix and tri-Ace have released Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, otherwise known as the fifth main entry in the franchise. The annual Star Ocean event, Star Ocean Fes, happened last weekend and sadly there was no announcement for a new entry in the series. However, there could be a new game cooking in the oven.

During a live presentation (via Hachima) at the event, Square Enix producer Shuichi Kobayashi responded to fan demands for a new title within the franchise. He noted that while Square Enix and tri-Ace hear the demand from the fans, a new game isn’t an easy thing to make and it definitely can’t be done without tri-Ace.

He then pleaded with fans to wait a bit longer, as tri-Ace has been working on supporting the smartphone game Star Ocean: Anamnesis. They also recently did an high-definition remaster for Star Ocean: The Last Hope, which saw a worldwide release later this past year.

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is now available for PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our review for the game here (we recommend it!).
