We’ve learned (via Hachima) that Square Enix is possibly developing yet another music-themed Final Fantasy spinoff.

The news comes via a new trademark for “Idol Fantasy” the company filed today in Japan. As the name suggests, this could be an idol music-rhythm game, or possibly an idol simulation game.

Considering the number of likeable female characters from the entire Final Fantasy franchise, this sort of spinoff just makes sense. This could also be something unrelated to Final Fantasy altogether, but here’s hoping.
