SteamWorld Dig 2 Heads to Nintendo 3DS

While the original game made its start on the Nintendo handheld, Image & Form Games has announced they’re porting SteamWorld Dig 2 to the 3DS.

The spelunking sequel filled with robots will launch for the 3DS on February 22nd, via the eShop. A price is set for $19.99/€19.99.

Image & Form said this is the “ultra-portable version” of the game, and is optimized to run at 60 FPS on the aged handheld, even with stereoscopic 3D on.

SteamWorld Dig 2 is currently available digitally for Windows PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PS Vita. In case you missed this as well, you can find our review for SteamWorld Dig 2 here (we highly recommend it!).

This game was a big surprise for me. I picked it up and played it through a whole weekend. And I tend to have Gamer’s ADD where I don’t stay focussed on any single game like some people do. But for that one I was just so compelled to keep playing it.

It’s almost like… porting video games is not all that difficult.

Take notes, Gears for Breakfast, THQNordic, and various other scummy third party developers.
