  • “Remaster” can be a scary word for a game like this

  • Jared Bellow

    Demons Souls too plz.

  • Anon_Amous

Dark Souls is now a handheld game.

  • Swirly Twirl

    Demon’s Souls remaster or bust.

  • goodbyejojo

    imagine blighttown…

  • Captain Vidya

Wait, this means the Chosen Undead can show up in Smash Bros now. Fuck.

  • Vitor Santos

how are they gonna remaster the pc version, other than making blighttown run at an acceptable framerate? the pc version already can run at 4k…..

DS on the switch sounds awesome though

  • Captain Vidya

Not gonna lie, Dark Souls on the go sounds pretty nice.

  • Neppers

Brandon, can you ask about the framerate, specifically on PS4?

  • Up to Sony isn’t it? I doubt it is a low priority since they are remaking/porting Shadow of the Colossus and many other games presumably due to no backwards compatibility but it has nothing to do with Bandai Namco’s Dark Souls.

  • Jared Bellow

I legitimately may buy for PS4 and Switch.

  • Jared Bellow

    Probably new textures and such.

  • Ace

Reminder that Demon’s Souls online servers are shutting down in late Feb for anyone who wants to play online one last time.

  • doog

Finally having a proper port on pc without needing to install a mod to fix everything will be nice. Maybe they will fix the minor issues 60fps brings up. Much rather have a armored core collection remaster though at this point.

  • Eldhin Shichiou

    STR lvl 16 + (2 handed) zwei + undead burg = fun

  • VersVlees

I’m guessing this remaster might run on the DS III engine. So one can assume its performance to be similar like Dark Souls 3 on the PC.

  • Anon_Amous

I always wanted to be heard shouting cuntfaggots in the middle of public.

  • Michael Richardson

I’m really excited to get this on Switch! DS1 is a total classic.

  • Travis Touchdown

Surprised that they would make a DS remaster before the Demon’s Souls one. I was expecting a complete collection of the Dark Souls trilogy.

Oh well. I’ll still buy it.

  • Amethyst Eclipse

With sub 20 FPS when you least want it calling it now.

  • They will all be 60fps.

  • PC gamers win again. We finally get the definitive 4k at 60fps experience.

  • New textures and 60fps.

  • not with Sony being retarded.

  • DrearierSpider

On the bright side, if Sony doesn’t do it, RPCS3 most certainly will.

  • panda

If I get this I’ll have the whole trilogy on PS4.

    I’m legitimately considering it.

  • Zack Attack

60fps on all platforms but Switch which is 30fps

  • Zack Attack

    Switch is 30fps

  • Mea K

I hope this isn’t just a shiny coat of paint and they also did things like actually finishing Lost Izalith so its general lack of quality doesn’t drag the rest of the game down anymore.

I expect riots from DS1 fans if this uses DS3 systems (increased gameplay speed, poise being a joke, etc.) but I’d personally enjoy that very much.

  • Oh yeah I forgot this is coming to that crappy tablet. Do any game on Switch runs at 60fps?

  • RichardGristle

Not to mention all the mods until now. Some of the weapons/shields/armor retextures are fucking awesome.

  • baronvonjigg

It was confirmed i believe that it is not going to run on the DS3 engine

  • VersVlees

Oh really? That kinda surprises me because that would have been the easy way for From.

It looks and runs reasonably good on most systems. Not to mention, that some assets from the previous games have been reused in Dark Souls 3.

  • Hans Peter

Don’t think a handheld needs 60 fps, but maybe i just never cared about fps as a kid playing on a gba and such. :D

  • Anon_Amous

30 FPS. Like the original was. lol

  • Pilebunker

Truly the Dark Souls of remakes. Seriously though, this doesn’t even need a remastered version. Demon’s Souls just had the servers shut down and they could have bought that to PC with some new content.
