Total War: Three Kingdoms Announced, Launches Fall 2018

Sega and Creative Assembly have announced Total War: Three Kingdoms.

The new game is coming to PC sometime this fall. Featured above, you can view the debut trailer for their latest historical strategy game.

Set in the year 190 CE and in the turmoil of the Three Kingdoms portion of the country’s history, with a focus on the three heroes sworn to brotherhood and destined to forever change the land.

Here’s some gorgeous artwork for the game:

Here’s a rundown on the game, via Sega:

The year is 190CE. China is in turmoil.

The Han Dynasty crumbles before the child-emperor. He is but a figurehead; a mere puppet for the tyrant warlord Dong Zhuo. It is a brutal and oppressive regime, and as Dong Zhuo’s power grows, the empire slips further into the cauldron of anarchy. But hope yet blossoms.

Three heroes, sworn to brotherhood in the face of tyranny, rally support for the trials ahead. Scenting opportunity, warlords from China’s great families follow suit, forming a fragile coalition in a bid to challenge Dong Zhuo’s remorseless rule. Will they triumph against the tyrant, or will personal ambition shatter their already crumbling alliance and drive them to supremacy?

The crucible fizzes. Allegiances shift. The fires of conflict stoke opportunity. Only one thing is certain: the very future of China will be shaped by its champions.

For now, you can view Total War: Three Kingdoms here on Steam.

Lu Bu kicking ass as always.:)
I’m looking forward to this.Guess CA will see over 100 euro from me in 2018.

  • 絶児

At last, a real Total War game that’s not dedicated to lifeless fantasy nerds.

  • Person Man

I feel like this would sell a lot in China and even Japan. Just for the setting alone.

  • AnarKreig

I’m annoyed. Even Dynasty Warriors is more true to the Three Kingdoms mythos than this cinematic.

  • Crizzyeyes

Yeah, fuck people who like fantasy. They should feel ashamed for indulging in such fancies. The only people who are worse are those who would indulge in such a meaningless fancy as a video game!

    …Wait.

  • 絶児

Fantasy based on real life > fantasy based on made-up shite IMHO

  • Crizzyeyes

What is “real life” though in this context? Real people believed in the myths that Warhammer and other popular franchises are based on, centuries ago. Why should CA draw an arbitrary line on what is too fantastic to put in a video game if they’re already not very stringent about accuracy?

  • Madbrainbox

    Don’t take the bait mate.

  • Ithaca TrenchGun

Seems like it’s going to be Total War : Kessen so hopefully Zhuge Liang is in it.

  • Anonymoose

Such a shame about the current state of the Publisher. We could easily get Koihime Musou mods otherwise. And then maybe I’d buy it.

  • EroBotan

yeah, the generals are fighting on foot lol, that’s not historically accurate … and doesn’t look cool too.

  • EroBotan

according to OneAngryGamer.net, that guy riding a horse who direct Guan Yu and Zhang Fei (who’re on foot lol) is Zhuge Liang.

  • Ithaca TrenchGun

That’s cool as hell then, although gameplay wise it’ll be interesting to see how they balance Zhuge levitating and calling down meteor showers lmao

  • Anon_Amous

    >lifeless fantasy
    >romance of the 3 kingdoms

All I see are worthless peons lined up for slaughter!

  • JohnnyCageFan2

As much as I like SEGA, gonna stick with KT for Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
