Opening Movie and Pre-Registration for Makai Wars

This is Niche Imports. In this column, we regularly cover games that haven’t been announced for western audiences yet. Please leave feedback and let us know if there’s something you want us to cover!

Nippon Ichi Software and Clover Lab have shared the opening movie for Makai Wars.

Featured above, the opening movie shows off the robust cast in the upcoming smartphone which stars Asagi from Disgaea. The game is described as a mix between Disgaea and the Cloverlab-developed smartphone RPG Yuru Dorashiru, and will have totally new character designs.

Alongside the game’s opening movie is pre-registration, over on its official website. If you pre-register for the game, you’ll get the goddess Freya as a playable character in the game.

Makai Wars is launching for both iOS and Android sometime next spring, in Japan.

  • grgspunk

Welp, not even NIS is immune to being seduced by the mobile “games” market, I guess.

  • Kitsune

I knew Makai Wars was going to be a mobile game, but Asagi deserves much more.

  • Jettythesunfish

So….will the new running gag be Asagi upset that her only game was on mobile?

  • Pilebunker

Asagi finally gets her game and it’s a mobage. Monkey’s paw strikes again. As with any mobile games, I’ll pass.

  • Envy-Noson

She actually became main character, in a mobile game.
