New Catherine: Full Body Artwork and Screenshots

The latest Famitsu has revealed the first artwork and screenshots (via Persona Central) for the recently announced Catherine: Full Body.

Featured above as well as below, the first key artwork and some new screenshots were revealed for the game:

Here’s a look at the key art:

The new game is developed by their new team, Studio Zero, and is being led by Persona 5 director Katsura Hashino. The game is a remake of the original PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title, only now it comes with a large number of new episodes, endings, anime cutscenes, and even more sexy moments.

There’s now a third “Catherine,” a girl named Rin (pictured). She’s likened to a healing sort of character that helps the nightmare-beguiled Vincent and shows him proper values and wholesomeness. She might come off as lacking in terms of social skills but overall she’s a very forward and soft character.

Fans can also expect a wider range of difficulty levels, online battles, cross-save support, a new mechanic where you can move multiple-connected blocks, as well as an entirely new mode. The subtitle “Full Body” comes from the wine term, nodding to the game being a richer and somehow more erotic version of Catherine.

Catherine: Full Body is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.

Glad there is a new route. Gives me more reason to never play the Katerine route.

Not even a full day of the announcemnt and Social Justice defece force are all up in arms about how Catherine “is a transphobic game.”
I’m almost done reasoning with them. Almost.

  • Random Dude

I’m not sure how to feel about this new girl. She sounds like something out of a terrible fanfic and which “alignment” she’ll be? Freedom (Neutral) or another look for Lover (Law) given this “proper values and wholesomeness” thing?

  • Migi

Not if you know that they’ll get away with their retarded ideas. I’d rather they shut up and let people create what they want, but these whiny minority’s feel they matter more than the majority.

  • cowboyjimmy

they need to decide on what makes the game transphobic or not, when a character gets bait and switched, its a problem, when a character is openly trans, again its a problem, make up your mind already.

  • chaoguy

Always push back or mock. Not to change their mind- but so onlookers see them for their true colors when another person refuses to believe what they believe.

  • Sean Sharpe

I thought Studio Zero was working on that fantasy RPG?

    Also, Rin look s cute.

  • Sean Sharpe

You do know most onlookers think you *both* look like idiots, right? I mean, the only people who care about the culture war are the people fighting it.

  • RichardGristle

Push back and mock, yes absolutely, but do it in an intelligent way. Turn their own inconstancy, hypocrisy, and mental gymnastics back on them. Their ideology is full-blown retarded, making this an easy feat, but certainly don’t resort to ad hominem.

  • RichardGristle

    RIP Star Wars franchise*

  • RichardGristle

I personally still think new girl’s design is absolutely atrocious. I hope it’s a trap though because the triggering would be astronomical.

  • JohnnyCageFan2

I’m going to be very real here for a second. It makes me VERY confused trying to understand how anyone can like a game which they feel disrespects who they are or their beliefs.

    Reverse-traps are the best traps.

  • Eldhin Hellknight

    Looks like a good “Catherine”

  • Uncle Ocelot

I agree with both of your points.

  • Snorlaxation

could we keep this topic on the other catherine post please? Let’s keep this one nice and fun

  • Snorlaxation

Erica was great, she fit in well with the plot (as well as her getting roped into the nightmares) and while the ending was a little cold for her, she otherwise seemed happy. People need to not knock down the progress their hammering so hard for.

  • Snorlaxation

The can probably compartmentalize their issues because, like with Erica for instance, their not main focuses of the games.
I get annoyed by how lamely Atlus chooses to handle gay anything in their games, especially in P5 (and with Kanji to a smaller degree), but otherwise I loved P4 and Golden tremendously. (P2 will always be my favorite though, and look how easily and well they handled gay stuff there).

  • Snorlaxation

P5 was annoying with how they handled ‘The Gay’, but everything else they’re whining about makes no sense.
Lots of guys freak out about being gay, especially when they’ve been bullied for it like Kanji. And as for Erica, what Panic?? Toby was all bummed out, but he hardly got grossed out or freaked out by Erica, especially when she was all over him in the Katherine ending.

  • Snorlaxation

Fingers crossed she’s an Incubus in disguise.

  • Snorlaxation

Neither did you know who, just vanishing into the wind. The plot of this movie was a mess.

  • Snorlaxation

unless Abrams knocks it out of the park, this new trilogy might go down worse than the prequels.

  • Snorlaxation

Is anyone going to get this for the vita?
I’d love to play this on the go.

  • Brimfyre

Yep I agree with everything you said. P5 was a step back, but Kanji when P4 came out was seen as a positive step forward. That was news to me that he is a hated character now.

I looked up the Erica stuff after this was posted to see if my memory failed me, and I think it did a little. A lot of it isn’t great by todays standards, but for the time it was pretty progressive. It looks like a lot of people get mad at Toby saying he wants his virginity back as if he was robbed of it because she has a dick. But really, that could just be playful banter between the two. She seems to act like it is.

The worst part of it is that they can go into her dreams because she was born a man. Which, going by the rules established in the game, shouldn’t be the case as she doesn’t see herself as a man at all. There isn’t really any reason the dreamworld should apply to her. That is more of a plot hole I think then it is offensive.

  • InkViper

If Rin isn’t a trap, then rule 34 will make it so.

  • Snorlaxation

Erica got some shit from her friends, and not much of it was nice, (definitely by today’s standards) but it’s also worth noting that Erica was formerly Eric, and was on of their bros, and while it’s been some time since i had friends, i remember what it was like to mess around and be stupid with them, saying dumb shit and calling them out on being dumb.

I’ll admit, it wasn’t until Erica’s story (the witch) comes full circle and I realize how long they’ve all been friends that I saw it that way, but it’s hard not to see it through that lens.

She had full conversion though, but prior to the reveal for him, something about their sexual encounter (i’ve never had sex with someone who transitioned into a woman) made him wonder if it was a little off, and I’m not sure what. I’m guessing her vag?

Anyway, it made sense to me why she got dragged into the nightmares, since those involved were and Old God (Isis), Boss, and a bunch of sex demons, probably wouldn’t have seen much of western culture concerning transitioning as very important in the grand scheme.

And either way, they never explicitly stated that only men could be targeted, and since we never see Erica as a sheep, we don’t know where she was having her nightmare experience. As long as someone is preventing someone else from having kids and propagating the species, they’re fair game for nightmares.

  • Snorlaxation

I’m wanting her to be an Incubus in disguise, and maybe have the Persona/Demon Incubus schlong

  • InkViper

That would be a cool plot Twist, bringing the Catherine universe closer to the SMT side of things.

  • InkViper
  • Shinobu

Looking at those hips I don’t see how it isn’t a trap.

Don’t do this to me, you bastards. You just so happen introduce a soft, nursing young woman with a cute face, who can be lewd as fuck. Which just so happen to be my fetish. Is this revenge because I didn’t pick any of the Catherines?

    IS IT!?

    Great post

  • buddyluv324

You’d think by now someone would of told these people that alot of the games they throw a fit over are not really kid-friendly games to begin with.

  • -blank-

    >”shows him proper values and wholesomeness”
    >First key visual is literally my favourite pose from doujins

I think I like her already, lads.

  • Feniks

Games like these reveal the false liberals from the real ones. Its funny when so called “progressive” people suddenly call for censorship and boycott!

Actually not funny but really sad. That goddamn horseshoe theory is painfully true. Those who Antifa at Berkeley are the same who burn abortion clinics in Atlanta.

  • DizzyGear

Better yet, make the world a better place and hang yourselves. Thanks SJW’s, that’d be swell.

  • Snorlaxation

now that I realize it, how long did Katherine sit on that information that she

wasn’t actually pregnant. I don’t think she lied about it, but I do believe she realized
she was wrong and still took her sweet ass time letting him know (especially for someone that messaged him as often she did).

  • Snorlaxation

  • Snorlaxation

I’m hoping for a cat/succubus fight, maybe a scene between the two or Vincent stumbling onto them arguing or something.

  • Brimfyre

She’s the worst. Just the worst.

  • RPG

Indeed. The film had some good things going for it (visuals, sound design, acting, trying to tread new ground). However, the negatives far outweigh the positives in my opinion. Bad pacing, bland characters that the movie insists on making a big deal, horrible plot, with perhaps the most worthless subplot in the series, and a complete disregard/disrespect for the characters and the lore established in the original films that longtime fans hold so dearly.
Don’t even get me started on the blatant social justice agenda that is all over this film either.
It is not entirely surprising that the critical reception from the mainstream media has been so staggeringly high, while the audience reception has been far, far lower.

  • Snorlaxation

I mean, yeah, the 100% Katherine ending was incredibly sweet, everyone lives and is happy more or less (Toby), Boss is stuck being a bartender, yadda yadda (plus that cake? Adorable and delicious looking), but is that really worth her actions?

I keep trying to explain or maybe justify it: Vincent was very wishy washy and undetermined, (which explains the plot, really), she was A type personality to the fullest, she was receiving calls (probably from Catherine) that Vincent was cheating on her, she was getting flak from her parents (maybe even friends) for not being married already. That one dungeon part where you have to help her survive, that really grabbed me. But I just can’t get past her ‘i’m pregnant’ thing.

Personally I prefer the middle of the road ending, where Vincent doesn’t end up with either of them, but wins enough money to actually go to space.

  • RPG

Say what you will about the prequels, but at least it had a decent and coherent story (for the most part) thoughout. They also still had the heart and style of the series, and did not completely betray the lore and principles of characters (midichlorians notwithstanding).
These new films are all style, and little to no substance. Smart without heart.

  • Snorlaxation

Are you sure? I could’ve sworn it was reverse, where critics were panning it while fans were praising it. Maybe I got it wrong.

  • Snorlaxation

We are 2 installments into this new trilogy, and it feels like VERY little has actually happened, plot-wise. Compared to the originals and the prequels, that is sad.

  • RPG

Yeah man, check any comment section relating to the movie, and the large majority is negative responses. I you go on review aggregate sites like Rotten Tomatoes, or Metacritic, etc, the critic reviews are averaged very high, while the audience scores are the exact opposite.
The article does have some good points; all of which were grievances of mine (plus many more) when I saw the film.

  • ProxyDoug

This is Star Wars now, every new movie is so bad it redeems the previous bad ones.

  • ProxyDoug

It matters to who it relates to. If Atlus keeps hearing that there is something wrong with their games from certain squeeky wheels, they might actually change something. And they would be far from the first to do it.

  • chaoguy

Even if that is true, still debunks the SJW as holier-than-thou. Gamers just want to play games and be able to support the good ones. They’re used to being insulted and shunned by the mainstream- and they don’t care. The SJW want to appear to be leading the charge of progress, so they can’t ever afford to let their true natures as people who cannot control their emotions that try to control others.
Pigs are happy to wrestle in mud. The butcher isn’t.

  • Sean Sharpe

If you just want to game, you need to kick out *everyone* that tries to use games and gamers for some political statement. This includes Milo Yiannopouloses of the world, too… You know, folks who talked shit before they realized they can use them as a bunch of useful idiots against their enemies.

I mean, I’m not a fan of SJWs. But lately, I’ve seen far too many gamers willfully allying themselves with political forces that just a couple of years ago thought we were all idiot manchildren.

  • Sean Sharpe

If Atlus changed something, it would largely because they want to.

This is a company, who even in games that pander to the waifu crowd, often subvert things and flesh out characters. And in many cases, just make the games they want.

I suppose I feel, based on everything they did, if they changed the way they presented characters like Erica, it wouldn’t be because people complained but because they genuinely want to do a better job. *Shrugs.* Maybe I just have too much faith in Altus, as a company… But considering that they can make a game filled with waifu-pandering that doesn’t make be cringe or lose my desire to play it… Well, I’m not that concerned.

  • ProxyDoug

It’s fair that you are not concerned, tbh neither am I. I just want for studio to not have to worry about pressure from moralizing busybodies.

  • chaoguy

The whole “enemy of my enemy” bit stops the second they begin to dictate. Milo did his bit and left- if he’d have started trying to organize and dictate to gamers what they should do- he’d have lost a lot of good will he built up.
Those that follow “leaders” want to do more than game. Since those that game; just game.
