Terraria Still Coming to Nintendo Switch, “Some Work Has Been Done There”

We’ve learned (via R/NintendoSwitch) that the Nintendo Switch port for Terraria is still coming.

Both developers Re-Logic and Pipeworks are working on the port of the 2D metroidvania-sandbox game, but right now they’re focused on the initial hotfixes for the console versions. Once those are completed, they’ll shift focus to the Mobile 1.3 update, as well as the Switch port.

The developers noted that “some work as been done there” regarding the Switch port, and with the “foundational codebase now in place,” they can move on full speed. It’s worth re-iterating that the 1.3 update is the last content update designer Andrew Spinks is working on personally.

While the 1.3.x content has been available for the PC version, both developers are hoping to bring all of the new content to the console, mobile, and Switch versions moving forward.
