Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2 Coming to Nintendo Switch in 2018

Capcom has announced they’re bringing both Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 to the Nintendo Switch.

Both classic Mega Man compilation releases are hitting the hybrid console sometime next year, and both will support amiibo functionality.

Mega Man Legacy Collection includes all original six Mega Man games, while Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 includes Mega Man 7 through Mega Man 10.

Further details weren’t confirmed.

Wow, only an entire year late.

    Way to go, Capcom.

  • Anon_Amous

    Nice.

I kind of knew this was coming as soon as they announced Legacy Collection 2 wasn’t coming to Switch. They may as well merge them into a single collection now.

They’d easily fit but I’d be surprised if they do.

Are they going to run like ass like they do on every other platform?

  • The Clansman

They do? How is that possible.

  • totenglocke

Everything I read was that they’re straight emulation of the original systems, so if a particular area would overload an NES and result in lag, the new games lag too.

Fixing that would require rom hacking (which let’s face it, not many people can do), or a rebuilt engine. I don’t expect Capcom to fund either.

Although the amount of slowdown varies per game, I believe 3 has the worst of it. I’m sure at this point many fans are used to it, and have grown accustomed to this, similar to shoot em ups that apply “lag” when many bullets appear on screen.

So people are complaining that the games are accurate to their original counterparts?

  • totenglocke

When the originals had performance issues, there’s no excuse for not fixing them in HD remasters. Every other game that has gotten an HD remaster has fixed performance issues.

  • No, it’s actually worse emulation than emulators, especially on PC. People report noticeable input lag and things that should never be in any game, ever.

    Give me Legends 3 motherfuckers.
