Despite being announced in February of this year and getting delayed beyond its planned August release, we’ve learned the physical release for Thomas Happ’s sci-fi metroidvania Axiom Verge is finally releasing this month.

A release date is set for November 21st in North America and January 26th in Europe across PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Wii U, and the Nintendo Switch. The new “Multiverse Edition” of the game (published by BadLand Indie) includes the following:

  • Deluxe booklet with developer’s commentary and art.
  • Double-sided poster with the world map and weapons/items in the game.
  • Exclusive making-of documentary.

Furthermore, the Nintendo Switch version of the game also comes with an official soundtrack, with a slightly higher $39.99 price tag, when compared to the soundtrack-less versions that are only $29.99.

Awesome. It’s great to see indie games getting physical releases.

    without going through LRG too

It’s a great game, but even the cheaper $30 versions are a pretty steep ask. And who the hell is gonna buy the Wii U version at this point?

  • Person Man

That’s probably the best part. Especially for (all 10) Vita owners.

Person man, Person man, hit on the head with a frying pan~

    I couldn’t stop myself o.o

  • Person Man

Well I’m glad someone got the joke.

Might be a smart scalper purchase when people start trying to assemble complete Wii U NA Libraries down the line.
