Kadokawa Games has announced a new post-apocalyptic RPG, Metal Max Xeno.

The new game is in development for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, and it focuses on a love story between the protagonist and “mankind’s last virgin.” Featured above, you can view the game’s debut trailer.

Set in the year 209X in a country named “Nippon,” players follow the half-human and half-machine protagonist Talis. He’s capable of destroying strong monsters by himself, and eventually saves the heroine Toni. She then follows him on his adventures.

Here are the first screenshots and artwork:

Kadokawa is likening this game to a “tank and human” RPG, where you can explore the wasteland and even preemptively strike your enemies by shooting them from your tank. The game is also being likened as a reboot of the Metal Max series, and a return to its roots.

A tentative release window is set for sometime next spring in Japan.
