Considering this came out on the PS3 (where I played it) I’d say it’s only a matter of time until it comes to the Switch.

  • Eldhin Hellknight

    Holly shit, $124.99? WTF

  • Mechonis

    Wew lad

  • Wait, Christmas costumes? We never received those until now. Can we still buy these separately? I suspect it’d be cheaper for me to do that since I’ve already got about half the DLC.

  • Margaret Syn

This. I’m probably going to buy a Switch soon because its selection is growing rapidly.

  • Matz

Those came out in June/July and were free, don’t know if they’re still in the store or free

  • Uncle Ocelot

I could easily see a FES/Golden style enhanced version on there.

  • Matz

Not really interested in any of these overpriced bundles, I already bought the 3 costume sets that I wanted and I’m not planning to buy more of them

  • Uncle Ocelot

Ehhh, I’ll wait until the eventual rerelease thanks.

  • Mr0303

I wonder if this will get a physical release. These complete editions are becoming a trend even with more niche games, which is sad to see.

  • totenglocke

Atlus has repeatedly stated that the core Persona games are Sony exclusive. It’s not fucking going to happen, no matter how much you want it to.

  • Touma

Not gonna happen, Switch will at most get another PQ style game. If there’s a re-release it’ll more than likely be on PS4 as well

  • Touma

To be perfectly honest I see no reason to buy this at all, most of the DLC was trash in my opinion. If this was 60$ and physical I’d be decent for people that hadn’t bought the game but at that price, forget it, you’re better off buying the game and the individual DLCs you like/want.

  • Travis Touchdown

The Japanese audience really wants it to happen.

  • Nagato

Can’t be much of an “Ultimate Edition” if it’s not portable or on PC.

  • DrearierSpider

The DLC is not only trash, the Persona DLC breaks the game. You can summon high level Personas right from the beginning, and you don’t have to pay to summon them like with non DLC ones.

  • DrearierSpider

If you’re paying $115 for a digital PS3 game in late 2017 kys.

  • RichardGristle

    >More than the cost of 2 new releases

AHAHAHA okay, Atlus. You truly are off your fucking rocker. This would be way more forgivable and understandable had it been an announcement for a Switch or PC version.

  • Kiryu

If you’re stupid enough to spend 125 bucks for 1 digital game you deserve to be slapped nonstop.

  • Tubsiwub

    …$125 for digital garbage?

    Right.

  • Jack Thompson

    “New Difficulty Level Challenge”
    >Difficulty setting locked behind overpriced DLC
That’s enough for me to never buy this game until they release a reasonably priced version with all the non-cosmetic DLC.

  • Cody Long

Yeah. Getting Izanagi-Picaro from the get-go completely nullifies the difficulty until late game, haha. Completely immune to physical damage, curse, electricity. Cross slash is busted too.

  • Touma

That, the Jap. voices and the consumable items/skill cards are free.

  • Touma

You can summon them for free after purchase? I thought it just let you fuse them like the extra demons in DeSu2:RB, that does sound pretty game breaking.

  • Loli Jogando Senran Kagura PBS

Persona Q AND Persona Q2 (featuring Persona 5’s characters) for the 3DS says hello.

  • Michael Richardson

Persona Q is EO gameplay with Persona characters. Not the same thing as mainline Persona at all.

  • totenglocke

What part of “core Persona games” is difficult for you to understand? There Persona Q games are spinoffs that are Persona themed Etrian games, like Hyrule Warriors is a Zelda themed Dynasty Warriors game. Reading really isn’t that difficult, son.

  • Michael Richardson

I don’t see it happening. When has an Atlus exclusive ever jumped ship to another manufacturer’s console? The only instance I can think of is Soul Hackers, which was originally a Sega Saturn game. Sega is out of the hardware business, though.

  • Michael Richardson

It’s free. Atlus isn’t that greedy.

  • Loli Jogando Senran Kagura PBS

ops, didn’t see the “core” in there (I read it kinda fast)

Still, spin-off or not, they are still cannonical. and considering that Persona itself is a spin-off Shin Megami Tensei (which is mainly Nintendo), There’s not much stopping them from putting the game on the Switch. I think the whole reason there wasn’t been a persona game on Nintendo consoles is because they came around the time Nintendo console were losing popularity (The Gamecube had nothing on the PS2 and the Wii, while selling well, was leagues behind the PS3 is graphics). The Switch now is selling like hot cakes and it’s being more attractive to developers of hardcore games. and Atlus has had a pretty good relation with Nintendo lately.

also, Right now, Every single main Persona game is available on a Handheld (the PSP and Vita) and I doubt Sony would release a new portable that could handle P5 anytime soon.

  • Loli Jogando Senran Kagura PBS

well, it wouldn’t really be jumping ship, after all Persona itself is a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei. and since Tokyo Mirage Sessions was basically a Persona with Fire Emblem characters, they already have their feet wet in that department.

I think it’s just a matter of Interest of the public and developers. it’s not like Atlus have an exclusivity deal with Sony or anything.

  • Loli Jogando Senran Kagura PBS

just give them a couple of months. I can see this coming out on Switch some time next year.

  • malbhet

Drop the price, make a physical version with the DLC on the disc, and not some retarded voucher for the dlc, only then will I buy this game. This is why I never buy Atlus games because of this microtransaction dlc and cut content BS to get as much money for one single damn game.

  • totenglocke

So you’re going to ignore the statements from Atlus themselves because the facts contradict your feelings. This is why I hate our society today…

  • Michael Richardson

Persona, SMT, and TMS are all VERY different.

I’m pretty sure Atlus knows there is a large amount of interest in a Switch and/or PC version of the game, but for whatever reason, they don’t seem keen on porting exclusives to competing systems. So, like pretty much all of their non-multiplat games, Persona 5 will stay Sony exclusive, SMT V will stay Switch exclusive, etc.

  • No_Good_Names_Ever

You’d think if AAA knows how to do this; they’d at least be able to figure it out.

  • Atlus continues to scam their customers.

  • MoeIsLife

    Atlus gonna Atlus :-)

  • Captain Vidya

It’s the price of the full game plus the crossover costume and persona packs minus, like, 10 bucks.

Whatever, I’m not going to make a big fuss over it. I’ll wait until Persona 5 Crimson for them to be part of the game itself along with all the other FES/Golden types of additions.

  • ProxyDoug

    That’s ridiculous.

  • ProxyDoug

    Very disapointing coming from Atlus.

  • Ramza Beoulve

time to steal the company’s heart for doing this bullshit.

  • Jack Thompson

Then why is it listed as something that comes with the ultimate edition?

  • mew

Doesn’t really matter since we can emulate the game. Atlus can hope all they wish that I’d buy a PS4 for Persona 5, but that won’t happen ever.

  • SLoWMoTIoN

Lol @ the people thinking it was gonna be a remake.

  • SLoWMoTIoN

You still holding out for this coming to PC/Switch? Are you still holding out SMT5 comes out on anything other than the Switch?

  • SLoWMoTIoN

You new to Atlus in general?

  • Michael Richardson

Because it seems to be listing the free and paid DLC that’s included with it. You can go on to Sony’s online store and see that it’s free for everyone, though.

    https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/addons/persona-5-new-difficulty-level-challenge/cid=UP2611-CUSA05877_00-ADDCONTENT000025

Same with the Japanese voice DLC.

  • Loli Jogando Senran Kagura PBS

only really played Catherina and Persona 5 so… yeah.

  • SLoWMoTIoN

They aren’t known for porting games as they once did when they weren’t as big. Usually exclusive means exactly that. Which is sad cause I wanted some of their games on other consoles but eh.

  • Loli Jogando Senran Kagura PBS

I see. well, they did port the Whole Persona franchise for the Vita so… there’s that.

  • Zero Eternity

    Milking it hard eh.
