Square Enix has announced Fantasy Earth Genesis.

The new game is a follow-up to their iOS and Android online game, Fantasy Earth Zero. The game will launch as a free-to-play title with in-game microtransactions. Featured above, you can view the game’s debut trailer.

Players can expect 50 versus 50 war-like battles where a total of one hundred players can fight in action-focused online battle royales. You’ll be able to expand your army’s territory only to eventually destroy your enemy’s castle. There’s also mechanics involving building new structures and summoning various monsters to help in winning the war.

A release window wasn’t announced. For now you can view the game’s official website.

So this is what they meant when they said they will focus on MP.

I heard Fantasy Earth Zero was getting a sequel called Fantasy Earth Genesis earlier this year so I kept an ear out. Very disappointed.

Sadly they will not stop it. This is the future of the major publishers/developers. Only way they’ll stop, stop buying/supporting/downloading their shit. Go towards the middle-ware (not necessarily indie) publishers/developers.

They make loads of money, why would they?

Their main market is Japan, who is constantly moving. Games like these are perfect for them.
