Square Enix Announces Survival Action Shooter “Left Alive” for PC and PlayStation 4

Square Enix has announced Left Alive.

The new “survival action shooter” game is coming to PC and PlayStation 4 sometime next year. Featured above, you can view the game’s announcement trailer.

Left Alive is being produced by Shinji Hashimoto (Front Mission series producer), with Toshifumi Nabeshima (director on the Armored Core series) as director. If the key artwork is familiar, that’s because Metal Gear Solid character designer Yoji Shinkawa is working on character designs, while Takayuki Yanase (Ghost in the Shell: AriseMobile Suit Gundam 00etc.) is working on mech designs.

Further details are coming on September 21st via a special stage presentation at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. You’ll be able to watch it via YouTube and Niconico.

Here’s a look at the game’s key art:

  • Looks very metal gear like.

Those osprey look alikes were carrying mecha….

  • 2501

Looks like a Front Mission spinoff, i’m all for Shinkawa’s art though.

  • Mr0303

This might be one of those survival shooter games. Nice art though.

  • NuclearCherries

This looks right up my alley. Hope the gameplay will be good.

  • Grey

Like the art direction of the trailer, but apart from some of the names involved, there isn’t enough about the actual game yet to really get hyped over.

  • ProxyDoug

This sounds too good to be true.

  • Matz

Liking the art direction, now let’s wait and see some gameplay, the names make me think that something cool might be coming and Square-Enix seems to know what they’re doing with anything non-FF related

  • Uncle Ocelot

    My nigga Shinkawa keeping busy

  • Uncle Ocelot

Wait, is that CoD one real?

  • You got the Metal Gear vibe from Yoji Shinkawa’s artwork/character design, and you got the Front Mission vibe from those choppers carrying mechs. This might be off to the right direction.

  • Νικήτας Πολυπεπόνης

  • How about yes?

  • InkViper

With Yoji Shinkawa art so up front and prominent, I wonder how many people will continuously mislabel this a Konami game!

  • Jack

I’m honestly really glad he’s getting work

  • Sigurd Chalphy

Good alternate timeline involving a young Solidus Snake and his apprentice Raiden being guided by Mei Ling’s twin sister Fei Ling.

  • Bigfatdane

Hmm, looks interesting so far, but I’ll need some gameplay footage before I start thinking about giving away my money,
