New Code Vein Gameplay Showcases Character Customization

Bandai Namco has shared new gameplay for their upcoming action RPG, Code Vein.

Featured above, the new gameplay comes via IGN, which shows off roughly four minutes of the game’s robust character creation suite.

The main character in the game is the player avatar, which you can customize entirely to your liking. You’ll be able to choose between features like body type, gender, skin color, eye size, shape, color, hairstyle, and even face type. There are lots of other added details you can choose to use (or not) like stickers, face paint, and more.

Furthermore, you can even customize your clothing, or your “inner clothes.” You can change the color of your clothing, as well as the look of the clothes itself (sleeves, collar, etc).

Code Vein is launching across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime early next year, worldwide.

    I really love those sort of things in my game but personally i would like to keep it clean and vanilla as possible for immersion sake.

    I really like the art style, and the game-play will certainly have it’s on unique elements. However the more I heard of the setting, the more I’m convinced the concept of the game came form someone playing Bloodborne and thinking “If the game is about blood, why is it werewolves and not vampires?” I’d like to think Bloodborne was a little more original precisely because they didn’t use vampires. Vampires are a bit over done.

    Not that any of that impacts whether or not the game is enjoyable to play, which is what matters most for something like this.

    hmm. while I do agree that Werewolves are an interesting idea, it’s been a good while since the last time we had a cool Vampire game, and the fact that it takes place in a post apocalyptic modern world rather than a fantasy one is an interesting twist.

    Why is it that japanese character creators are almost always so much better than western ones? Especially when it comes to hair? Why can’t western developers take notes from stuff like this?

    true that. I think the best Western Character creator I’ve seen so far was Saints Row 3 and 4, and the WWE Games.

    If I could make male characters Tizoc/The Griffon tier when it comes to muscle, I definitely would. But fujoshi build is great for making the perfect edgelord and this game seems to revolve around that.
