Classic Nintendo Arcade Titles Coming to Switch

Nintendo has announced a new collection of classic arcade games heading to the Nintendo Switch.

The new collection is coming via a collaboration with Japanese studio Hamster (who are known for porting classic games to modern platforms), and it’s titled simply Arcade Archives.

The first release is the original Mario Bros. arcade game, which is coming on September 27th.

Nintendo is planning other classic arcade games which are “coming soon.” They include:

  • Arcade Archives: VS. Balloon Fight
  • Arcade Archives: VS. Ice Climber
  • Arcade Archives: VS. Pinball
  • Arcade Archives: VS. Clu Clu Land

Finally, Nintendo made a note in that these arcade games might have slight differences compared to their NES originators.

Is VC officially dead now or what, what reason would they have for doing this unless they have no plans for it on Switch? Also funny how these were all included in Animal Crossing, hard to imagine them doing anything like that now.

“these arcade games might have slight differences compared to their NES originators.”

Hmm. Also I wonder what this means for VC…

Ridiculous. Repackaged roms everyone’s played and emulated for decades sold to us yet again with dumb features slapped on top. SF2 and now this crap. Can’t wait for all those netplay NES titles nobody’s gonna play on paid Nintendo accounts.

Pretty much. People want SNES and up. NES games are shitty and they resell that shit all the fucking time

  • NukeA6

NES games are shitty? Is that why the NES mini has high demand?

  • sAy_YaS

They have a top selling system and decide to port shovelware instead of just making nes/snes/N64 collections. The could release volumes and they would sell.
