THQ Nordic Officially Announces Biomutant for PC, PS4, and Xbox One

Following a leak this past weekend, THQ Nordic and developer Experiment 101 have officially revealed Biomutant.

The game is a post-apocalyptic, open-world action-RPG for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’s set for a release sometime next year, worldwide.

A collector’s edition is also coming for $119, it includes: a copy of the game, the official soundtrack, a figurine, A1 artwork on fabric, and a premium box.

Biomutant is a post-apocalyptic open-world ARPG that delivers real-time melee, shooter and mutant ability action. Replayability by varied and deep character progression, exploration of three systematically generated worlds, an underworld and a small solar system, by foot, mech, air-balloon, jetski and UFO. Biomutant also features a fully customizable (MMO style) character and mutation system, bionics and creative item crafting, plus an interactive narrative featuring a contextual storyteller where the players creates their own story of survival in a vibrant colorful world.

    That’s all I’ve found so far. It definitely has potential, but I’m hoping there’s going to be more dynamic movement to the final product. Like with the bat-wing glider part, the glider is static – there’s no tilt animation to indicate diving and pulling back. Hopefully the lack of that is just because it’s an early build.

    And hopefully there’s going to be climbing and stuff, given that you’re playing as mutating critters. And maybe it wouldn’t be so much to ask for some grappling hook action? I mean, it’s being made by Just Cause developers after all…

    I don’t know, I think I’m just wanting something to make world traversal more interesting than just walking/running or driving things that essentially equates to a fast version of walking/running. If they have that, then I’ll be magnitudes more interested in this game!
