THQ Nordic has fully acquired independent German developer Black Forest Games.

The publisher has acquired 100% of the shares from the studio’s five founding members, alongside purchasing all the intellectual properties for series like Giana Sisters, Helldorado, and Rogue Stormers. All the aforementioned IPs will now be integrated into the THQ Nordic portfolio of games.

Despite the acquisition, the five founders of Black Forest Games will remain at the studio and continue operating as before. However, Black Forest Games is working on a new, unannounced project for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Details for their new project will be revealed soon – possibly at Gamescom this week. We’ll keep you guys posted.
