Rumor: Okami HD Heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One

A new rumor is making the rounds – this time for a current-generation port for Okami HD.

The rumor comes via Kotaku UK, who notes two independent retail chains from different regions in Europe, have added the title to their upcoming physical release calendar – for internal use of course. The listing has the game launching on December 12th of this year, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Okami HD was originally launched for PlayStation 3 back in 2012. The game is a high-definition remaster of the 2006 original, and features PlayStation Move support, trophies, and was a digital-only release outside of Japan.

As with any rumor, take this with a grain of salt – however, we’ll keep you guys posted.

Slap that on a disc and I’d get it again.

  • sAy_YaS

I would like to play this.

  • Uncle Ocelot

I wonder what resolution it’ll be at, the PS3 version was actually running at 4K downsampled to 1080p. Shame that there doesn’t seem to be a PC version, but if it’s physical I won’t mind.

  • Mr0303

Another remaster from Capcom. Imagine my shock.

  • G. H.

I already picked this up on PS3 and Wii. So hard pass

  • JFpaes15

Capcom should just straight up make a Clover HD Collection instead of porting a remastered game to current gen.

    Also no PC, Fuck me.

  • kenneth

    fucking yes

  • Zack Attack

Switch? If not, I guess the PS4 version is nice too.

  • Heresy Hammer

Anyone else remember the wii version ?

  • Travis Touchdown

Laura Kate Dale is at it again. Either he’s lying or he got someone fired at Capcom.

  • MISTER6AME

Release for Physical copies not Digital copies maybe they announce PC version too.

  • Shattno

Cool, will buy again. But why no Switch tho?

  • Skate or Die

I’m still waiting on a Lost Planet 1&2 Remaster collection along with an English version of E.X. Troopers.

  • catazxy

Maybe it will be 1080/60fps this time, the game deserves at least that…..

  • JFpaes15

Maybe, but I don’t think so, DMC4:SE had pretty much the same thing happen to it with a retailer possibly leaking the game early, and there was a PC version amongst PS4 amen Xbox.

  • MISTER6AME

Probably Capcom officially announces PC version on gamescom,i really want to play Okami.

  • Grampy_Bone

They keep trying to make this game a success. How many ports and versions does it have already?

  • RichardGristle

It’s a Capcom re-release. Expect to see it on every system imaginable for the next 25 years.

  • SevTheBear

Hope it’s true. Would love to see this on PS4 and PC :D

  • DrearierSpider

Why is this a bad thing? Do you really think modern Capcom are capable of creating good games?

  • Mr0303

Where did I say it’s a bad thing?

If anything it demonstrates Capcom’s general laziness and inability to create new worthwhile experiences.

  • Malcolm_Ecks

Just bring it to PC and be done with it. I’m not buying Skyrim 7 times so I’m not buying Okami 7 times either.

  • MISTER6AME

    ps2,ps3,wii.

  • ProxyDoug

Waiting for an original game…but I guess this will do.
For some reason, Capcom remembers to release Okami in every generation, but ignores all of their other hits like Viewtiful Joe and God Hand.

  • ProxyDoug

    That would be neat.

  • DrearierSpider

Implying “imagine my shock” isn’t a negative reaction. And that’s my point (re: lazy & inept): we know they’re not gonna create any new shit that’s actually good, so we might as well get their old shit instead. Especially considering how many top tier games never left the PS2.

  • Mr0303

Being unsurprised is a negative thing all of a sudden? I’m not saying that a remaster in itself is a bad thing (especially for a good game), but I have to comment on the predictability of Capcom’s business practices.
