While Capcom and Dentsu Entertainment USA are working on an animated Mega Man series, we’ve learned (via Hollywood Reporter) that a standalone movie is happening as well.

The report notes Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Catfish, Paranormal Activity) are being tapped to write and direct the movie.

Chernin Entertainment is producing the film alongside Heroes actor Masi Oka. The report also notes that Twentieth Century Fox had to negotiate for two years to get the rights, with the deal made this year.

That’s basically all we have to go on for now, unfortunately.

What would you like to see in the Mega Man movie? Do you even want it made at all? Sound off in the comments below!
