E3 2017 Trailer for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim

Atlus has shared the E3 2017 teaser trailer for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.

Featured above, the new trailer provides a look at the Vanillaware-produced mecha game. Footage available shows a very strong emphasis on side scrolling, a water-color effect over what may be 2D or 3D character models and a reference to “13 people crossing paths”. Originally 13 Sentinels was teased at in July 2015 as part of, or just following, the public reveal of Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir.

The Japanese release for the game is confirmed for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. A western release is confirmed, however platforms have not been confirmed yet.

  • Ckarasu

Too bad it doesn’t show any gameplay.

  • artemisthemp

    I agree with you.

I would love to see what Atlus is up to.

  • Ckarasu

Why would they not be? Vanillaware likes to have their big breasted characters. Odin’s Sphere, Muramasa, and Dragon’s Crown have all shown this.

  • Mr0303

Yes, and I’m pointing out a character that possesses said assets via the image. I thought it was obvious.

  • Ckarasu

Well, I mean, she was in the previous trailer as well. The one 2(?) years ago.

  • Mr0303

And? Does this prevent me from pointing her out?

  • Ckarasu

No, but I can also point out how obvious and kinda redundant your statement was. Not that this trailer wasn’t redundant, either(basically showed a tiny bit more than the E3 trailer).

There’s not much else to discuss with this game at the moment. Just making talk.

  • InfectedAI

Yeah, this was disappointing. The only thing I care about in regards to this game is seeing what the game actually plays like. I think no trailer would have been less disappointing.

  • Mr0303

“No, but I can also point out how obvious and kinda redundant your statement was” – redundant how? Did anyone make the exact same post here? Did the article mentioned what I said?

“Not that this trailer wasn’t redundant, either(basically showed a tiny bit more than the E3 trailer).” – you are also assuming that everybody has seen the previous TGS trailer and knows about the game. Atlus releasing it in English and introducing it to a new audience is far from redundant.

  • Ckarasu

We have eyes, and she’s in the foreground. You even put in a pointless red circle, as if we couldn’t see it. Yeah.

Releasing it in english is not a huge deal anymore. We have people that can translate the original trailers. Also, it tells us nothing we can’t already infer, for the most part. Redundant. Give us gameplay, not a slightly extended rehash of a trailer produced 2 years ago.

  • InfectedAI

You two are cute, now get a room. Wish you could collapse parent comments to stop redundant conversations from taking up so much space.

  • Ckarasu

Not yet. The tension is what sells it. We haven’t reached the breaking point, yet.

  • Mr0303

Tell that to the post police.

  • Mr0303

She was in the trailer for 2 seconds, so there may be people who missed her. I put the circle to accentuate who I’m referring to. I’m sorry that you don’t get nuance or intent.

“for the most part” is a weasel phrase and it is quite obvious that the English trailer conveys new information for those who haven’t seen it or didn’t bother to find a Japanese translator when they saw the original.

  • Ckarasu

For the most part, I don’t care what you try to extend this non argument with, bruh.

  • Mr0303

I’m not extending anything. I’m just saying that you are full of shit.

  • Ckarasu

    Sure, sure.

  • Fear Me I Am Free

    Can’t wait.

  • InfectedAI

*sips his drink with his eyes darting back and forth between the two of you*

  • Ckarasu

    Soon.

  • ProxyDoug

This song could be in Ghost in The Shell.

  • Tubsiwub

This trailer shows a lot of cool gameplay. I am so ready to walk to the right.

  • Fenrir007

True, but I will say I would blindly buy any game made by Vanillaware without second thoughts.

  • Fenrir007

Who’s the uke and who’s the seme in this relationship?

  • Ckarasu

We’re not at that stage, yet.

  • SiliconNooB

I think your positive regard for bosoms has offended Ckarasu.

He also had a huge freak out in the comments section for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 about how the censorship in Xenoblade Chronicles X didn’t matter. He’s pretty much confirmed for a pro-censorship SJW.

  • Mr0303

In fairness he did state that he’s against censorship, but his behaviour is baffling.
