I do hope Heihachi manages to kill his entire demon family and school Akuma while he’s at it.

  • Narcissus

nah if he did this there would be no more tekken

  • Mr0303

Not necessarily. He can run it without his pesky family running around. Or somebody else could take over like Nina or Lars.

  • Lars need to be the one that stops heihachi’s evil once and for all.

  • Mr0303

Heihachi has been trying to rid the world of the Devil gene at the cost of his own family. He’s a hero.

  • He constantly hurt and kill people. Besides it his fault for why his family are so horrible.

  • Mr0303

“Besides it his fault for why his family are so horrible.” – how so? Every single member of his family other than him has the Devil gene including his father Jinpachi, who he imprisoned.

  • If he never threw his son off that mountain his devil gene would not have activated. Same thing with having his grandson shot which activated his devil gene. The guy is a monster.

  • Mr0303

“If he never threw his son off that mountain his devil gene would not have activated.” – how can you know that? Jinpachi’s transformation activated at a random, which is why Heihachi preemptively kills all those with the Devil gene.

  • Well he should not have had a child with someone that has a devil gene instead of making his son’s life a living hell.

  • Joe

Tekken has no “story”. Nothing has really happened or progressed over the course of the entire series – it always just ends up at the same status quo of Heihachi vs. Kazuya and sometimes Jin. Plus Nina never ages a day.

Street Fighter’s not any better mind you – but wouldn’t it be awesome if these fighting games actually had good stories – or any rel story progression to speak of from game to game?

  • Narcissus

This. People shouldnt make kids with the auti…er devil gene.

  • Mr0303

His father had it and he didn’t. Why would he presume that his son would have it? Plus we don’t know if Kazumi has it.

  • Madbrainbox

They just need to invent different stories for each game. The characters need to stay the same but they need to completely change the setting each time. One could be set in the modern world, one in an ancient setting, one in a SF setting and so on.

  • Madbrainbox

In the trailer it looks like Kazuya will win.

  • Mr0303

This will likely be the case. They’ve been setting up Heihachi’s death, but I can still hope.

  • Eden

    “Heihachi did nothing wrong”

  • Eden

That’s the thing that I loved about Injustice 2, the story felt so much more involved than most fighting games. I would love to see a fighting game that’s not already based on something have such an involved plot.

  • raizin

I know this late, but Jinpachi didn’t have the gene. He was possessed by an evil spirit. Heihachi’s wife has the gene. Which is why only she, Kazuya, and Jin have it.

  • Mr0303

Looking at Tekkenpedia ( Harada has flip-flopped on the issue. He said that Jinpachi doesn’t have it, but it is stated to the contrary in Tekken 5&6.

You are correct. They confirmed that Kazumi has it at a con. We didn’t know that from prior games.

He did research into the gene to either make himself immortal or create a clone of himself. It wasn’t very clear.

  • FailDRE86

Nina and Anna were in cryostasis for 20 years

  • Madbrainbox

We’ll see soon enough.Hoping for some good stories for my guys(Hwoarang and Brian).Who knows?Maybe Hwoarang gets to kill Jin.:)

  • ProxyDoug

I think they’ll kill him since his voice actor died. They used that young version of him on Tag 2 and now they may put the character to rest.

  • Mr0303

I too suspect that he’ll die, but I doubt the VA is the reason for it. They already changed quite a few of the original cast.
