Star Ocean: Till the End of Time Western PS4 Release Coming This Month

Square Enix has announced a western release for the PlayStation 4 re-release of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.

The PS2 Classic will be released in North America on May 23rd (We’re awaiting a European confirmation). As with any PS2 on PS4 release, you can expect trophy support, remote play support, and more.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time was originally released for the PlayStation 2 back in 2004. The game focuses on protagonist Fayt and his friend Sophia as they adventure through a tumultuous era following the attack by the Vendeen Empire.

So that gets a rerelease, but not Persona 3.

  • Uncle Ocelot

Go ask Atlus for one then.

Wish it’d get a retail release, digital this it needs to be on a sale for 10 bucks or less before i even consider.

    JP audio included?

  • depends on if the original had it. They don’t add any new features, just trophy support.

  • Awesome!! Hopefully its around $15 like most PS2 to PS4 games. :D

The only real dislike (or hatred) this game should get is for the iffy facial designs, the spotty voice acting, and that deus ex machina ending. Otherwise? Really good game.

  • That terrible plot twist.

    I hope so too.

Why would 3 get one? Persona didn’t blow up until the Vita version of 4 sadly. P4 Golden outsold its console release. And Persona itself is a niche as fuck franchise, that’s a spinoff of an even more niche as fuck franchise.

Star Ocean has been relatively popular for a much longer time.

It has been confirmed to be $20.99 through other sources

Well, I thought Persona 5 sold 1.5 mil+ copies, logically people might want to discover roots of the franchise, P4 already has a port for Vita as you said, but no good way to play P3 outside of PS3 port that isn’t available from PS Store anymore for some reason…

  • Malcolm_Ecks

Good for Persona 5. I love the game. But I didn’t get that vibe. SO:Til the End of Time is arguably the last good game in the series. 4 and 5 were not that good. They announced this re-release for JP and the West demanded they get one as well.

There hasn’t been that kind of demand for a P3 re-release. And likely won’t be one for the West until a re-release is announced in JP.

  • $21? Dang. Guess i’ll still get it.

Unfortunately, PS2-onPS4 titles never get physical releases. Many seem to be confusing this as being a remaster, when it isn’t. It is just a typical PS2-on-PS4 release, which is the PS4’s equivalent of PS3’s PS2 Classics, but they have trophies and share features, as well on PS4 as the only additions.
