Phantom Dust Remaster Now Available for Free

The long delayed and once cancelled remaster of Phantom Dust is finally available, and it’s coming for free.

Xbox marketing manager Aaron Greenberg confirmed the release yesterday, saying that the remastered cult classic was coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 for free with cross-platform play.

For those uninitiated, Phantom Dust is a 2004 Xbox exclusive that combined action, strategy, and collectable card games. While it didn’t sell well, the game developed a cult following, which lead to an attempted reboot in 2014. After putting the reboot on hold in 2015, Microsoft officially began working on this remaster, announcing it last E3.

If you want to play the Phantom Dust remaster, it’s available now on Xbox Live and the Windows Store.

  • No_Good_Names_Ever

Having Win10 on your comp or having a console with barely any games.

Just curious, but did the original version on the XBox had micro-transactions also? >/

  • luggage lad

no, those didn’t really exist on the OG xbox

that was added in in this version for people who don’t want to play singleplayer to unlock all the skills in multi (which you had to do in the old ver.)

  • luggage lad

it’s free. same game/content as on the old xbox, but you can pay money if you dont want to play the campaign to unlock all the skills in multiplayer

  • Malcolm_Ecks

Fuck it. I’ll give it a shot.

Oh, interesting. I’m all for free stuff, and since I’m already a Grade C cuck for installing Windows 10, might as well reap the few and far between benefits of it.
