First Look at Bandai Namco’s Rurouni Kenshin Mobile Game

Bandai Namco has shared the debut trailer for the recently announced Rurouni Kenshin mobile game.

Featured above, you can get the first look at Rurouni Kenshin: Kengeki Kenran, which is set for both iOS and Android devices sometime this spring.

The game will be free-to-play, and naturally comes with in-app purchases.

Looks nice for a mobile game. It could have been worse though, it could have been a puzzle game.

I really want a decent game set in the Rurouni Kenshin universe.A game that could follow Kenshin’s master or Hiko Seijuro I.Or maybe a game where you follow Tenken no Sojiro spanning 10 years and starting after his duel with Kenshin. You could choose Kenshin’s path or Shishio’s path or go somewhere in the middle.

Why does mobile keeps getting these games that would be way better in a PC?

  • InfectedAI

Because Japanese devs care about Japanese customers with the West as an afterthought and mobile is huge in Japan. It’s not a hard concept to get and yet people keep being baffled by it with every announcement.

I know its a joke and all, but how/why do people keep misquoting that?

If anything the usual grumbling about mobile games you’ll see here is more appropriate.:P

People get baffled because mobile limits the game in too many ways. I understand how the Japanese market works and how they think and most of the time, I prefer it, but limiting games for mobile makes no sense.
Specially when you look at the Switch today, yet you can’t get a game you play on the go and have a more relaxed, fulfilling experience at home.
When I look at a game like this I can’t see it being satisfying on mobile. Just put it on the PC and allow the saves to carry on to mobile as well.

Looks like the same assets as the fighting games for PSP

How about a new story starring Yahiko ? He became a ridiculously awesome badass after the events of the main series.

His duel against Kenshin’s son was quite awesome. This could be great as well.
