Preview – Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers

Niche Gamer Plays is an ongoing video preview series where our staff take an in-depth and yet concise look at classic and upcoming games across all current gaming platforms.

The week I take a wack at Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers. This is a bit of a spin on the Warriors series, going from beat em up to Tactical RPG. Does it work? See for yourselves.

Dynasty Warriors: Godseekers is now available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita.

i dunno, i feel the feedback ui could be more engaging, i kinda get no satisfaction of watching battle animation play out, also the vita version frame rate is just.. blargh

Looks like flaming garbage, should have just made a true musou game and cut out a turn system that just doesn’t fit the DW name sake

I’m not sure what to thing; it seems kind of interesting, and I almost want to commend TK and OF for trying to branch out, but you know what they say: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Maybe Omega Force should just stick with what they know best and keep doing musou.

Those special attacks were pretty unspectacular, almost boring even. Even the Synchro attacks don’t look all that neat, and that’s supposed to be the big ultra attack; you’d think at least that one would be pretty cool. I’d still love to get my hands on a demo of this though.

  • We will see, how it pans out. I am trying to get it reviewed by Monday.

    Digital only release?

Regardless of whether Musous are your thing, you gotta hand it to Omega Force– they sure can crank these out pretty damn fast. This has to be like the fifth or sixth Omega Force game I’ve heard about in the past year

I’m a hardcore Devil May Cry 4 player and I love the Musou series since they give me some mental rest from stylin’ in DMC4, so I’m not sure if I’m going to like this being a tactical RPG. Loosely reminds me of their Romance of the Three Kingdoms (VERY LOOSELY) games.

Thank you very much for the preview though. I’m just glad I have a site I can go to for this kinda stuff made by gamers for gamers.
