Microsoft Confirms Scalebound is Cancelled

[UPDATE]

Microsoft has confirmed that Scalebound is indeed cancelled:

“After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for Scalebound. We’re working hard to deliver an amazing lineup of games to our fans this year, including Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves and other great experiences.”

[ORIGINAL STORY]

We’ve learned of a new rumor pointing to Platinum Games’ Xbox One and PC action RPG Scalebound experiencing further development woes, and possibly even getting canned.

The new rumor (via Kotaku) is citing “several sources” close to the project saying the game is stuck in development hell, and might be cancelled. When they reached out to Microsoft, they said, “We’ll have more to share on Scalebound soon.”

Coming from this, an official announcement is expected now to help quell or confirm the rumor. That’s all we have to go on, and it remains to be seen if this is just an attempt at getting a status update on the game.

Platinum Games have been developing or co-developing a lot of games recently, with their latest opus being NieR: Automata, a co-developed action RPG with Square Enix.

On the other hand, the game has been experiencing development issues for quite some time, having been announced back at E3 2014. We haven’t gotten an official update from Microsoft in months, and the company’s recent Xbox Wire post doesn’t even mention the game.

As a fan of all dragon media properties, it makes me sad at the possibility of the game being cancelled. We’ll keep you guys posted.

I vaguely remember Kamiya being angry with Microsoft about something. Guess this might have been it…

  • Joel Leonheart

    Damn :/

  • Fear Me I Am Free

That sucks if it gets cancelled, but it also sucked that it was exclusive to Xbox One.

  • cowboyjimmy

game looked pretty rough in the demos, i think MS pressured them or something

  • Wonderkarp

If true, this sucks. Especially more for Xbox fans as they already have a limited exclusive library compared to Sony

  • Dr.Weird

it wouldn’t have been an exclusive anyway, yours truly, a sony gamer who pirates shit for pc.

  • Neojames82

That’s what you get for working with Microsoft.

  • Migi

The hype for the game kinda got killed for me the moment i saw the main protagonist. Game needed a more darker overtone instead of the douchebag they made him out to be.

I do have to say it’s a shame considering the amount of development time this game had.

  • PenguinPlayer

It was scheduled for Windows 10 too.

  • totenglocke

    Through the shitty Windows store.

  • doog

I don’t know what’s microsoft’s deal is this gen but they are good at wasting money on dead end projects and flops. Fable legends, phantom dust 2… and flops like quantum break, sunset overdrive, recore, titan fall 1 why would anyone want to work for microsoft anymore.

  • wobblypops46

The Xb1 has just as many big AAA games as the PS4 console exclusive or not. The PS4 exclusive games library is ridiculously over-hyped for what it really is.

  • Uncle Ocelot

Well that sucks if it’s true. The game was looking a little rough around the edges but I was still looking forward to it because of Kamiya.

  • Bitterbear

Wait, why? The folks at Platinum could cram a game like Bayonetta 2 on a goddamn Wii U.

  • Uncle Ocelot

It could be issues with Microsoft rather than getting the game to run.

  • Malcolm_Ecks

That assumes you don’t count all the Japanese imports. The Western exclusives on both consoles are fairly the same, but the PS consoles always have the more varied option from imports.

This game likely would have bombed on the Xbox One.

  • Malcolm_Ecks

MS likely didn’t think it’d sell.

  • lol.

  • DrearierSpider

Eurogamer also has their own sources making these claims.

    http://archive.is/kvNKN

  • Sean Sharpe

Why the hell would you pirate a game from a good developer? Even if you hate the publisher, showing them that you like certian developers is good… For those developers.

  • Mr0303

It would be quite strange if this game is cancelled. It was featured on multiple conferences and was one of the key games for MS.

This may end up as a black mark on Platinum.

  • Hubbles

    Not happy.
Was looking forward to both Nier and this.

    :(

  • wombat

    Balls.

  • wombat

He’s correct, both consoles suck exclusive-wise… the Xbone just sucks more, especially since MS officially stopped supporting the Xbone entirely when it comes to exclusives.

  • wombat

    It’s called “being a dick”

  • JFpaes15

What makes this more depressing is that Microsoft’s entire line up doesn’t even compare to how incredible Scalebound could’ve been. With the exception of Sea of Thieves, which looks neat, all the other games just look… meh.

  • Jacob Waters

That quote was given to Windows Central – you should probably note that.

  • Enju

But it’s not Platinums fault, if Microshit wants them to put Microtransactions in there and Hideki Kamiya says “No fuck you” and Microsoft pulls the plug on the game. It’s all on Microsoft

  • Gale

    >Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves
    >Amazing line-up of games
    KEK

  • Laytonaster

    Ow, my heart…

  • Excuse me I’m off to play Guilty Gear Xrd again

  • Travis Touchdown

I bought an Xbox for that too. FUCK.

Still a better purchase than a PS4 would have been, but seriously… Microsoft can go eat a bag of dicks.

    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/1e2b047c3b245bff1c8362e61f32a6a903cdde945697ea27ac9ef7d649ff8d8b.jpg

Still my favorite Wii U game.

  • Mr0303

We don’t know anything about the situation, but in the end it will be bad PR for both Platinum and MS.

If a situation like what you described actually happened, the cancellation will be on Kamiya, since MS is funding the project and they are refusing to implement it per spec.

  • Travis Touchdown

We know enough. Rumors about development issues have been going around since the game was delayed last year. Kamiya was already clearly unhappy with development by that point.

I think it’s safe to say that Microsoft tried dictating what Platinum could and couldn’t do with the game.

  • Astralwyrm

It seems that Microsoft and games based around dragons do not mix. Panzer Dragoon Orta poor sales as an exclusive on xbox, Crimson Dragon MSed to death, Scalebound cancelled.

  • Fear Me I Am Free

Oh really? I thought it was pushed as an Xbone exclusive.

  • catazxy

Do you have some links to support your claims?

  • Uncle Ocelot

They already forced Kamiya to change the main character from a loli to not-Nero.

  • Cy

What a shame. Platinum can churn out crappy licensed properties but they can’t deliver on this. Very disappointing.

  • Deathtone

Was the o only Xbox game I was looking forward too.

  • yo that is freaking crazy, I just woke up to this.. The only reason I say is that because I played Bayo2 on the WiiU and loved it and put Platinum as one of the developers in ym list of people to watch out for. When they announced scalebound I was hyped then derailed due to being a Xbox One exclusive. Though I was never gonna buy a console for a game or really like any of microsoft’s consoles(just their pcs lol). Anyways I would figure I would play it on my cousin’s console at some point as I was starting to like what I saw from the game.. but then something hit the fan during the development cycle and halted progress. Still crazy that microsoft had at least a somewhat unique exclusive game in their line up.. LOL I just can’t… I don’t know if I should be let down or laught at this.. so conflicting. Anyways there goes another vaporware game…

  • EvanPearks

You guys should cite your sources before stealing quotes. Top notice journalism!

    http://www.windowscentral.com/xbox-exclusive-scalebound-has-been-canceled

  • [email protected]!

The aesthetics of this game are corny as hell, I doubt it would have sold well even if it wasn’t an Xbox exclusive. The most interesting news coming out of this to me is that line Eurogamer had [“Work on the game took a serious knock last autumn, Eurogamer sources
say, when several senior members of the development team were forced to
take a month away from the pressure of the project’s heavy workload.”] I wonder if that’s the same reason why so many “big” Japanese titles like Street Fighter V feel so incomplete.

  • catazxy

Shit, now they have to focus on Nier 100%, Platinum has given us mediocrity for too long….its time to deliver!

  • I am seriously starting to doubt if games are any longer “exclusive” anymore? with microsoft they get pushed through the windows store… Then either microsoft or sony they get pc ports… like what is the point of saying exclusive if later you make available to almost everyone? and I get it “money” and such.

  • AR7777

    Project scorpio cancelled next?

  • PenguinPlayer

It was, before EVERYTHING Microsoft was working on was confirmed for Windows 10 as well at last year’s E3. Xbone is selling as well as sand in the desert, and Microsoft knows it.

  • Sevuz

Could been the PlatinumGames couldn’t handle so many games at the same time. Or that the scope of the game was too much for them

  • Travis Touchdown

That really should have been our first red flag that something was wrong. Kamiya HATES his work being messed with.

  • Sevuz

Well if they would launch them on Steam they might have a chance to sell a few copies :P

  • catazxy

I fail to see what is the problem with more games coming to pc. More games for everybody, right?

  • Uncle Ocelot

But the PS4 actually has some exclusives?

  • Didney Worl

Man, they are really grasping at straws.

  • Didney Worl

And with that, I have no more Xbone games on my wishlist. I don’t even have 10 games for my Xbone. What a pitiful excuse for a console. Hopefully Sony or Nintendo could pull a Sleeping Dogs and salvage the game under a new title.

  • Uncle Ocelot

The Xbox One has just been letdown after letdown.

  • 🏆 Jokerino ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Oh well, that sucks.. I was looking forward to playing this on my PC. Matter of fact, why not bring it or give to Sony as well as the NSwitch instead and also putting it on PC, since MS doesn’t seem to want it for their X1 and Windows Store. What I want to know is the true reason from Kamiya’s mouth; does MS want to add some sort of Microtransaction BS or it needed guns or what??

Also that “amazing lineup of games” is WEAKER than Playstation’s lineup last year, like they’re all sequels except for Sea of Thieves. While this cancellation may leave a bad mark on Platinum Games track record but since SB is cancelled, their focus is going to shift completely over to Nier.

  • Sevuz

exclusive is used to get people buying the console version of the game. When it doesn’t sell well anymore on console, it heads toward PC. The Windows Store crap, is their lame attempt to drag the PC gamers into their nest

  • Andrew Siribohdi

It’s weird, I have an Xbox 360 and enjoyed it and many of the games it had. But when the next generation came, I just switched to PC.

I always felt… disloyal for abandoning the Xbox, but the more I read about how few games are coming on the Xbox One, the more I feel correct in my decision not to purchase one.

Am I disloyal to Microsoft or is Microsoft disloyal to me?

  • Aww sh1+ my man, didn’t mean to come off that way. No I don’t mind PC players getting more games either. It just dumb that these developers say exclusive and it ends up in other places as well. They should say timed exclusive or whatever. And I get why do this now… So they can squeeze the most money from the console version and later get more from the pc ports. Now if they announced it was a timed exclusive I can see people would wait more for the pc ports and they wouldn’t really make as much sales from the console versions. Still if a game is coming to pc I would like to know so I don’t buy the console version.. but I guess it can’t be fair like that lol

  • Didney Worl

I feel your pain brother. I just bought an Xbone on Black Friday and I’m already regretting it.

  • Travis Touchdown

Knack? The Last Guardian? The Order 1886?

    I’m drawing a blank here…

  • 2501

Super disappointed to hear this. With the medicore effort from Platinum Game’s recent titles, I had allot of faith that Scalebound would be the game that would expand their talents. Now I wouldn’t be surprised if the studio goes under.

  • Yea Kamiya is the type that like his stuff his way. I am suprised that there weren’t any major conflicts(I suppose there was some?) when they nintendo pitched for Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U.

  • wombat

    *PC

  • Didney Worl

Tell me about it. You know you fucked up when the best games on your console are a freemium fighting game and a retro compilation.

  • catazxy

Oh, I see. Don’t worry tho, deception and lies are starting to get on consumers radars.

  • Travis Touchdown

There weren’t. Platinum even went on record talking about how great it was working with Nintendo. They actually made Platinum redesign the Nintendo themed costumes to be more sexual.

I think we’ll be seeing more Nintendo/Platinum collaborations in the future.

  • catazxy

I have an 360 too, but why would you be loyal to a company? What did Microsoft ever did for you?

  • Andrew Siribohdi

I feel like MS, however flawed, gave me some of my earliest memories in gaming. If it wasn’t for them, maybe I wouldn’t be where I am today.

    Just thinking out loud.

  • catazxy

At least that xbone will get some 3rd party support for sure, the Switch-the magic gaming tablet-idk, we’ll see…

  • Sean Sharpe

Persona 5? Bloodborne? Eventually, it will start getting Falcom games. I mean the PS4 is good if you like Japanese shit… Although, currently, it is pretty interchangeable with the XBO.

In a couple years, it’ll be a better buy.

  • Damn must’ve missed that somewhere and if that’s how it went down.. I’ll be looking forward to it!

  • lol I know exactly what you mean.

  • Sean Sharpe

Expecting any post-SNES Nintendo home console to get third party support is awfully naive. If you’re buying it, it’s for Nintendo’s own library,,, Or you’re stupid.

  • Uncle Ocelot

Well off the top of my head there’s Bloodborne, KOF XIV and Ratchet & Clank, and Gravity Rush 2, Nioh, Ni No Kuni II and Yakuza 6 are coming soon and are looking promising. Ace Combat 7 as well. And if you wanna count games that are also available on PS3 if you speak nip there’s Yakuza 0 and Persona 5.

Considering MS has basically abandoned full exclusives and are releasing everything on PC as well I could also count “console-exclusives” for PS4.

  • Grampy_Bone

State of Decay 2 might be good

  • Uncle Ocelot

The Switch is also a handheld though to be fair, and they have pretty decent third-party. The Wii had some good exclusives too.

  • PixelBuff

Early on I was considering getting an Xbox for this, the PC/Steam announcement effectively killed that sentiment, but glad I didn’t take the plunge.
Still bummed out, I’m hungry for an original Kamiya title.
Hopefully now he’ll do Bayonetta 3 or Vanquish 2, or a new IP.

  • catazxy

No, I get that, shit, nintendo is failure since the gamecube yet hardcore fans will still buy every console they make. People want to have some of that childhood magic again…
Do what you want, since it’s your money here, but try to remember what microsoft (sony and nintendo) really is, just a soulless corporation that thinks nothing of you or anybody and just makes whatever decision they can to make as much money they can: DLC, seasons pass, micro-transaction, exclusivity deals, cinematic trailers, paying “gaming journalists” are just a few of the tactics…

  • Kelborne

The game never looked good in the first place, so I’m not too upset or surprised.
Scratch that, I actually am kinda surprised they would cancel a game that’s been shown this many times. Even at E3. When’s the last time that happened? Oh right, that Fable game.

  • catazxy

Yeah, but what will happen to the 3ds? I can’t help but wonder how will look 3ds “quality” games next to some new zelda or mario?
Whatever, I don’t think we will see some new CoD on the Switch (130gb)…

  • catazxy

    (maybe sell it)

  • Uncle Ocelot

The visuals for most games will obviously be improved.

  • Sean Sharpe

True enough although I’m not going to get too optimistic about it. Mind you, I’m still going to get it based on Nintendo alone since I love their games… But I’m not going to expect more than that.

  • catazxy

Yeah, probably, but that means first party games will become more expensive and it will take longer to produce…so we will see less of them at the same time. Just like every other big publisher.

  • RPG

Damn, this was pretty much the one Microsoft exclusive title that I was semi-keeping an eye on due to platinum and Kamiya’s involvement, even if the gameplay did look kind of rough in my opinion (Maybe Sea of Thieves, but I think I still need a more fleshed out idea of what can be done in game).
I am so glad I never have felt the need to buy an Xbox One. I feel as though it would just be an expensive foot rest at this point.

  • Kamen Rider Mike

Well i guess MS might aswell just kill their X1 and just go pc while they can

  • LaserCatsAreAwesome

    LOL Xboned!

  • Etherblaze

A bit sad. Was hoping to see what it would be like. Hopefully the concept shows up in another of Platinum’s games.

Also I hope this softens Kamiya’s boner for Microsoft.

  • DrearierSpider

Halo could potentially make for a really good RTS if they weren’t insistent on gimping it for controllers too, pretty sad.

  • Casey

As a platinum fan, I can say I’m not doing any weeping. At no point did this look like it was coming together into an actually good game whereas Nier:Automata looks like they’ve pulled everything together.

  • luggage lad

to be fair Crackdown 3 and Sea of Thieves look amazing

  • Fear Me I Am Free

Kinda surprising because even though I’m not a fan of Xbox, they have made some decent decisions lately like backwards compatibility. Sony has started making bad decision after bad decision and I feel soon it will bite them in the ass.

  • Donwel

I wonder if this is due to MS sticking their snout in and demanding shit be changed. Didn’t they do something similar with Rare when they were working on Banjo?
Obviously the difference is that they don’t own Platinum, but if they were the ones funding it then….

  • Donwel

That’s what happens with these companies when they’re on top, they think they’re untouchable.
Look at what happened with the PS3 when that came out and again with Xbone after its E3 reveal. Sony seems to have a very short memory, while MS are playing catch up after a series of shitty decisions.

  • Eldhin Hellknight

    What?! WTF!!!

  • UUDDLRLR BASTART

I really feel bad for Kamiya, I can’t imagine what he must be feeling. But at the same time the only atom of interest I had in that platform has now vanished.

  • Andrew Krasy

What we saw at E3 looked like hot garbage so I guess this is the first smart decision MS made in a long time.

  • Andrew Krasy

Or maybe the game was just shit. Which everything pointed to.

  • Luis Diaz

Before the PC port announcement I was ready to buy an XB1 for this game. God damn it Micro$oft.

  • TrojanHorse711

Even worse, when the best multiplat of anything on your console is exclusive additional content for a fake 8-bit indie game.

…not that Shovel Knight X Battletoads was bad by any means, but the point still stands.

  • Izzy Lichi

    KEK

  • Travis Touchdown

We’ve known they were doing that for a long while. Kamiya seemed really unhappy with them, actually.

  • David Curry

Games get canceled all the time despite being well into development, but not before they’re revealed to the public. Huge black eye for Microsoft, which is developing a reputation for canceled/vaporware games. Going to be an awkward keynote when trade show season begins.

  • Maria Maasaa

Does Microsoft just like shooting itself in the foot? Oh well maybe we’ll get a PS4 version now.

  • Dale Frewaldt

I’m not convinced Sea of Thieves will see a release.

  • Rumble Red

I wasn’t keeping close tabs on Scalebound, but I probably would’ve played it eventually. This sucks, but the real tragedy is how much of Kamiya’s time this wasted that he could’ve spent making other games.

  • Mr0303

It’s actually cancelled. Insanity. Well at least that frees up Platinum’ schedule a bit.

  • InkBrush

KI and the Rare Replay are the only things I got for it.

  • Luis Gustavo da Luz

GG Xrd Revelator and Sign are both on Steam, so…no exclusive…. Playstation lost a lot of exclusive games, Like the Atelier Series, NieR Automata and mush more

  • Donwel

Unsurprising really. Kamiya seems to me like the kind of guy who likes to be left alone to get his work done. Though I think anyone would be pissed off if walking suits kept interrupting you while you’re trying to do your job.

  • InkBrush

Kamiya gets fucked over. While Shithead fraud Inafune gets away with scamming a bunch of mentally retarded manchildren out of 4 million dollars and ruins multiple IPs…

    http://i.imgur.com/X84nn.gif

  • luggage lad

    I’m feeling that way too…

  • Chocolate ISISCream

I literally bought an Xbox for it as well. I have no reason to own this thing anymore.

  • Sylveria Shini

So they cancelled the only MS exclusive I found even mildly interesting. Guess I won’t have to worry about scraping up money for an Xbone after all.

  • DariusQ

Now more than ever there is no reason for me to pick up a XBone.

  • Dr.Weird

it largely depends, is it distributed on GoG? if not then you can’t own it anyway even if you pay money for it, I refuse to license anything.

  • Post Konami Kojima

    nier

  • Green_Shades

Forza Horizon 3 and Gears 4 were received very well, however.

  • If those are the what you considered the best games on the system, then you have issues.

  • gwadahunter2222

After that the Xbox One deserve to die and scorpio too

  • gwadahunter2222

Don’t forget Recore, Inafune’s exclusive turd for Microsoft

  • Kelborne

You left out PS4’s best exclusives: Senran Kagura: Estival Versus and Oneechanbara Z2 Chaos. Turn in your PS4 and gun, you’re suspended.

  • “We’re cancelling an original IP so we can focus on churning out sequels to
stale concepts, and a pirate MMO that will probably also be cancelled in
    the fullness of time.”

This is the most current-gen statement I’ve ever read.

  • To shovel more half assed shite?

  • McSuperNigger

damn another Xbox “exclusive” goes down the shitter

  • Since when did “Games Journalism” have any quality to it?

  • Mr0303

Their recent track record have been less than stellar, but they can produce good games. Maybe they can get back to form if they are not doing 4 projects concurrently.

  • Sean Sharpe

I can understand that mindset… But at the same time, if you really feel that way, why even both PC gaming at all?

  • Fenrir007

The PS4 has a plethora of weeaboo games, though.

  • Fenrir007

Never buy a console for a game that isn’t out yet.

Still, I think the Xbone is a good value thanks to a good lineup of “free” games every month on Gold (much better than the indie crap selection on the PSN+) as well as due to the EA Access thing. But that is only if you don’t have a focus on PC gaming, since stuff on the Xbone is usually multiplat.

  • Luis Diaz

Welp, there goes my respect for the Xbox brand

  • Didney Worl

I’m not counting multiplats, just exclusives. And as far as exclusives go, the Xbone is a barren wasteland compared to the PS4 and Wii U.

These are all of the games I own for the system:
    Dead Rising 3
    Gears of War Definitive Edition
    Gears of War 4
    Killer Instinct Definitive Edition
Ori and the Blind Forest Definitive Edition
    Rare Replay
    Recore
    Sunset Overdrive

The only other game I still need to get is Quantum Break, that would bring me to 10 physical games. Now, let’s remove GoW Definitive and Rare Replay from the list since one is a remaster and the other is a retro compilation. That would bring me down to only 8 games. I don’t like the fact that I paid $300 for a system that only had 8 games I had any interest in playing. That was my mistake, and going forward, I will avoid making that same mistake again.

  • Zombie_Barioth

Well this sucks if true, I wonder how much of it is due to their work on NieR.

I mean, did they not like where it was going and scrap it to focus on NieR, or did Microsoft just scrap it in favor of more ‘proven’ titles?

  • AR7777

I think there are other things we don’t know about for example once kamiya tweeted something that would imply things were not well with microsoft

    http://www.gameondaily.com/kamiya-is-pissed-off-at-microsoft-are-they-fucking-with-me/

  • Neojames82

Honestly, while I’m sure there is some blame from both sides, I think it is more on MS end of this one.

  • Zombie_Barioth

It sounds like the decision might be mutual then, Kamiya might have finally had it with them and quite.

It certainly wouldn’t surprise me. Kamiya isn’t known for holding his temper, and this wouldn’t be the first time Microsoft allegedly drove away developers. They’re supposedly the reason Rare split up after Nuts ‘n Bolts.

  • NathanEH

I was really looking forward to Scalebound. I’m very curious what happened. I wonder if we’ll ever hear the story. The game seemed very far along and it was shaping up nicely from what I could tell. That’s a huge blow to the Xbox One and Microsoft can’t have very many more of those.

  • qwet

Guess, if the game’s assets/code isn’t Microsoft owned, and Nier Automata does well. Game could be scrapped and repurposed into a Drakengard sequel/remake.

  • mrwizeass

We probably won’t find out until the NDA is up. I’d give it 5 years.

  • Tubsiwub

This was the only IP people were really waiting for… and it’s cancelled? Sucks to suck, Microsoft.

  • Madbrainbox

State of Decay 2 has potential. The first was pretty good.

  • Uncle Slick

    Well that sucks.

  • Uncle Slick

    State of Decay was awesome.

  • sanic

Cancelling this and phantom dust, what are they bringing instead?

  • #console exclusive.

And playing fighting games on steam/pc is no fun except they have crossover online modes. You find rarely any opponents in fighting game son PC, that includes even big games like MKX or SFV.

  • Madbrainbox

    Yeah.Great zombie game.

  • TT

could they not have finished it and make it for PC? Seems like a lot of wasted potential…

  • TT

As one of the many mentally retarded backers of Mighty No 9, this statement hurts. Kamiya deserves far more credit and recogonition than Con Man.

  • Mr0303

I would tend to agree. MS have been cancelling games left and right recently.

  • 2501

Automata is more of a Yoko Taro game. Scalebound was going to be the next full fledged PG Game since Bayonetta 2, that’s why PG where riding so much on this.

  • Luis Gustavo da Luz

You clearly have no idea what you talking about

  • Good luck finding many opponents in fighting games on PC.

…without starting a thread in a steam discussion before to gather some people around after some days lol.

  • N64iac

Theres officially no reason to own an Xbone now

  • John Smith.

  • nuworldblue

At least Sea of Thieves looks promising.

  • NuclearKangaroo

i would love to hear what kind of shitstorm led to this being cancelled

  • NuclearKangaroo

nigga even if you buy a physical copy you are paying for a license

this is why you cannot reproduce the software

  • Nagato

You should definitely avoid making the mistake of buying consoles in the future, yeah~

  • Nagato

For what it’s worth, the best thing Sony has so far is a third party freemium roguelike.

Unconventional business models don’t mean much anymore in this age of traditional full price retail games generally being garbage, and often blatantly unfinished at that.

  • TsukuyomiMagi99

Whelp there goes the only game I had an interest in on the XBONE. Go fuck yourselves Microsoft.

  • LaTaleFan1985

Well. Guess I’m selling my Xbox One S on Craigslist now. Hopefully I’ll get some decent money for it. :D

  • Dr.Weird

    watch me you gay nerd

  • sanic

If they can’t come up with a few more exclusives this will end poorly.

  • NuclearKangaroo

    you wouldnt pirate a car

  • Luis Gustavo da Luz

Dude, i make all the achivements for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round on Steam, and one of them was fight 100 online matches,… DOA5LR online is broken af, and i managed to fight 100 online matches without a problem, i repeat, don’t argue with something you don’t have any idea how it work

  • wobblypops46

Correct, but those are niche games most are lucky to sell even 50k. People don’t buy a PS4 for these games obviously, even though some fanboys would like to convince everyone otherwise.

  • Sony wins yet again. I told you time and time again you cannot beat Playstation.

  • Fenrir007

I bought mine precisely for that reason. If I had to choose a single next gen console, I would go for the PS4 easily (unless if I didn’t have a PC – then I would go for the Xbone due to the better Xbox Live free game deals compared to the PSN+).

  • Try the same with BlazBlue games. DOA5 is more or less the only halfway popular fighting game on PC, finding matches against the scrubs there is almost as easy as finding 20 matches in one hour in good old Tekken Tag 2 on PS3.

  • Dr.Weird

I would though, I would pirate the shit out of a car *slaps on his eyepatch and driving gloves.*

  • panda

you found the perfect screenshot for this one. well done.

  • Malcolm_Ecks

Especially when it comes to selling titles like this.

  • Mass effect isn’t an xbone exclusive.

  • Nope.

  • John Smith.

    Who said it was?

  • Why bring up Mass Effect when giving reasons to get an Xbone?

  • John Smith.

    Are you stupid?
Go back and read the OP for this thread and then re-read my answer to that.

  • Are you stupid?
OP said “Cancelling this and phantom dust, what are they bringing instead?”
You said Mass Effect. What the hell Microsoft have to do with Mass Effect?
