Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Event Announced for January 31

After teasing the announcement a few days ago, Square Enix has finally revealed when and how they will be announcing their plans for the Final Fantasy series’ 30th anniversary.

The studio has announced a “Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Opening Ceremony” for January 31st at the Toho Cinema in Roppongi Hills. During the event, special guests will be present to reveal Square Enix’s plans for the series’ 30th anniversary.

If you live in Japan and have a Japanese Square Enix Members account, you can also enter a raffle to win one of 200 tickets to the event. There are plenty of rumors going around about the event, but we’ll see for ourselves this January.

UPDATE: January 31st, 2017 is also the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII. While it may have been obvious before, this makes it almost certain that we will see new info on the classic RPG’s remake on PS4 during the event.
