Dragon Quest XI Opening Movie, Gameplay Reveal, First Character Details

Square Enix has shared more info for Dragon Quest XI during their stage show at this year’s Jump Festa.

Alongside a couple of gameplay videos for the PS4 and 3DS version, they also revealed the opening trailer for the game, which you can view above.

The games starts when the Protagonist, a young man who lives in the village of Ishi, turns 16 year old. The village is described as being “filled with warm-hearted people.”

The first partner you’ll recruit was also revealed – the blue-haired thief named Camus. He’s a bit rough as he talks, he is idealistic and has a warm heart to boot. He’s familiar with the world, and acts as a guide for the protagonist.

Here’s some gameplay of both versions:

Dragon Quest XI is expected to be released in Japan in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS. No announcement was made for the Nintendo Switch version, which Square Enix previously confirmed.
