Yusuke Naora has announced his resignation from Square Enix.

While also being a huge NBA fan, Naora worked at the company for twenty four years, predating their merger with Enix back in 2003. His final day at the company was September 30th.

He worked on a multitude of games at the company, beginning with Final Fantasy VI in 1994 (as field graphic designer). His next game was Final Fantasy VII, which he took the position of art director for.

His final game at the company will be Final Fantasy XV, which is set for a November 29th release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Naora teased fans, saying he managed to see the game’s ending.

“It was my last work, and it became the greatest ending,” Naora said. “Everybody did fantastic! It was the finest work.” After his departure, Naora will continue working for the company as a freelancer, however it remains to be seen what his next project will be.

Editor’s Note: Added an addendum for Naora working as a freelancer.
