The sequel to Crystal Dynamics’s Award winning reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise is set to be released on PlayStation 4 in less then two weeks. The one year console exclusive deal between Microsoft and Square Enix is about to come to an end, and it would seem that Sony wants to reward Tomb Raider fans for their patience. Right now, if you pre-order Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration on the PlayStation Store, you will also receive a free digital copy of the 2013 reboot Tomb Raider.

Rise of the Tomb Raider tells the story of Lara Croft as she journeys through Siberia. Still shaken by the events of the previous game, Lara must overcome the psychological effects of her journey to ensure her survival.

The Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration comes with all the previously released DLC for the game, as well as new single player DLC titled “Blood Ties”, VR support, Co-op play for Endurance Mode, a new difficulty setting called “Ultimate Survivor”, a 20 Year Celebration outfit and gun, and 5 classic Lara skins.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will release for Playstation 4 on October 11, 2016 both physically and digitally, worldwide.

  • Feniks

Rise of the Tomb raider ended up on PSN for free the last time (mediocre but free is free). Just wait 6 months.

  • LinKurosawa

You mean Tomb Raider, the first one, this is the sequel

Also I think it went free on the Xbone

  • Fear Me I Am Free

I heard RotTR was pretty mediocre. Seems like I remember reading after the idiotic “backlash” that dealt with the first game (her being almost raped), they listened to those idiots and made Lara more generic.

  • Ace

I remember working on the original reboot. Fun game.

  • Tyrone Jackson

Too bad, the first one had fucking great gameplay.

  • Nettrick Nowan

Not enough to make me purchase a year old game.

  • Dewey Defeats Truman

I know little about these games and care even less than that but it’s always good form when a sequel comes with the previous game. Hell that was easily the selling point of Bayo 2 for me.

  • sanic

Huh thought all preorders offered TR 2013 but I guess not.

  • Fear Me I Am Free

Yeah, I heard the gameplay is practically the same as the first game so a pro and con.

  • Smug

It’s shit because it’s simply not Lara

  • I thought she went to shit the moment they took away her sex appeal and made her into a retarded feminist icon

  • Bitrip

Man the first one was so good. Even the multiplayer was decent. Dunno about this one though.

  • Sadistic Pervert King

New Lara is pretty terrible, but the reboot series is quite fun to play. Moron.

  • Sadistic Pervert King

They didn’t take away the appeal, they just turned it down. Her titties and ass jiggle and she’s very pretty.

They did indeed make her retarded, though. I wish the writers could be swapped out for literally anyone else.

  • Sadistic Pervert King

If you liked the first. You’ll like the second. Mostly similar with some uppgrades. They did improve their puzzles, though.

  • Sadistic Pervert King

You know most games are already two to three years old when they release, right? Moron.

  • Sadistic Pervert King

If you liked the first, you’ll like this one. Mostly similar with some upgrades and additions.

Also: the environments are even better now.

  • Sadistic Pervert King

If you want something and know you’ll enjoy it, why would you wait six months for it? Are you that poor?

  • Fear Me I Am Free

Considering how mediocre the story was and how much of the same the gameplay is, it doesn’t sound worth it.

  • Sadistic Pervert King

Yeah, the gameplay is more fun, but the story is still very cliché and stupid.

If that sounds like a deal-breaker, I’d recommend waiting until you can buy it used from gamestop/EB games. That way you can try it without risk.
