Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions have confirmed an planned internal release window for their debut game, Death Stranding.

The mysterious title will reportedly ship before the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and before 2019, the year in which the iconic Akira takes place (which also hosts the Olympic Games in its story).

As per typical Kojima-style, the creator only shared a few tiny hints at what fans can expect: like how the game will include a new form of cooperative play, and that it will also be completely playable by one person.

Kojima also teased that while casting is still ongoing, there could be a heroine involved. “Who should play her?”, he teased.

Whenever Death Stranding does release, it will be published on PlayStation 4.
