Capcom has detailed (via 4Gamer) that new CGI movie based on the Resident Evil franchise.

The new film, Resident Evil: Vendetta, is coming to Japan sometime next spring.

Details are somewhat scant, however we know the movie will feature an entirely original storyline.

According to producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, however, the story will be similar to the original Resident Evil – hence the mansion in the background.

It’s also clear that somehow both Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield will be involved. The movie will have The Grudge creator Takashi Shimizu on board as executive producer, and it will be directed by Takanori Tsujimoto.
