Obsidian’s RPG, Tyranny, Rises “From The Ashes” In New E3 Trailer

Due to release sometime before the end of the year, Obsidian’s next CRPG, Tyranny, just revealed a small bit of new gameplay in a recent trailer revealed during the PC Gamer E3 stream. Mixing story and lore with a few snippets of fresh (albeit short) gameplay scenes, the new trailer shows brief glimpses of ruined castles, a war-ravaged town, and a lava-encased environment not shown in the previously released video.

For those still a bit hungry for more of the title, the official blog is updated every two weeks with short stories and information about Tyranny. Topics such as the basic roleplaying systems and the main character’s powers have already been covered by the developers, so those wanting to explore Obsidian’s non-crowdfunded CRPG will find quite a bit to sink their teeth into as the games nears its release.

One thing fans may want to keep in mind is that since starting work on Tyranny, Obsidian has hired two of the famed (and long defunct) Troika’s big names, Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky. How that will affect the game is something we’ll find out later this year when it drops for the PC later this year.
