Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits will launch for the PlayStation 4 tomorrow, January 12th.

The game was originally developed by Cattle Call for the PlayStation 2 and released in 2003, and is the first of two Arc the Lad games for the platform.

If you’re in need of a refresher, here’s a synopsis of the game, via the PlayStation Blog:

For years, the Humans and the Deimos have been at war in their struggle to capture the Great Spirit Stones. To the Humans, the stones represent a magical source of power and light. To the Deimos, the stones are the viable force behind their spell-casting abilities. But fate is about to place the future of both races in the hands of two men.

I actually liked this one. The other Arc the Lad game isn’t very good, but this is. I’ll definitely buy it.

Still waiting on Valkryie Profile on the PSN though… come on…

Emulators have never been able to do VP justice. They have too many glitches… especially the Lenneth version for the PSP…

Actually, that version specifically there is a clean rip that I have played from start to finish on hard, including bonus dungeon content, without any emulation issues. For a long time VP was notoriously bad with emulation, but most of that was because it was never ripped well. Now, if you want a bad experience, go to a forest in VP2. Ugh, that stupid filter glitch…

    Promoting piracy, nice.

Eh, already got that one, I’d rather have the other one that was never released in europe.

Most bullshit final boss ever. Most cringy hero ever (them victory quotes), but we had Darc so it was ok in the end.
