Due to Outside Criticism, Capcom Censored Street Fighter V to Avoid Offending People

street fighter v 08-27-15-19

While we’ve reported on why Capcom has censored various things and characters in Street Fighter V, some fans were left wondering the credibility of the sources throughout the months.

Now, we’ve gotten confirmation from Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono himself, in an interview with Gamespot that clearly focused on the hot topic of censorship and keeping the franchise “family friendly.”

“You may have seen sometime ago, for R. Mika’s Critical Art cutscene, the camera angle was changed a bit, and we made some other changes with how the camera angles worked with the characters. That was one of our answers to some of this feedback,” Ono said.

This is definitely a far cry from people saying Capcom did this internally, without the feedback of outsiders who may be offended by digital buttslaps.

“We want everyone to be able to enjoy playing this game,” said Ono. “We don’t want anything offensive in there; we want everyone to be able to enjoy the game as much as possible. So we’re working to be able to provide a friendly environment for everyone.”

Ono made a note in saying that not everyone is supportive of their censoring the game, saying some “hardcore fans attack [his] Twitter account with lots of F-bombs.” He said that while Capcom is focused on “broader issues” beyond balancing and frame data, they have a strong focus on the “identity” of their franchise, and will make sure it’s not “compromised.”

“The message we want to provide for our hardcore fans is that we are cognizant of the series’ identity, and we are going to make sure that the Street Fighter identity is in place,” Ono said. “We may be making more adjustments moving forward, but the fighting experience, the battle, is the same.”

What do you guys think of Ono’s replies and comments? Is the censoring in Street Fighter V worth appeasing what is probably a vocal minority? Sound off in the comments below!

So which is it? Super god damn sexy or family friendly? YOU CANNOT BE BOTH.

  • BurgerUnit

Ono needs to realize people will always be offended. We already see this with some of the alternate costumes. And if it wasn’t that, it would be something else.

  • Immahnoob

No it is not, it’s not worth it. Ono is pandering to the wrong crowd.

After all this, and they still want to shoot themselves in the foot? It’s stupid. Just why?

  • Dago

Since when beating the crap out each other until losing consciousness is family friendly ?

  • deadeye

Yes, Street Fighter has always had nothing but good, wholesome, child-friendly entertainment.

Like BDSM. It’s fun for the whole family.

The sky actually skews a more towards violet than it does blue. The human eye just interprets it as more blue than anything.

They’ll continue to deny it, probably claiming Nichegamer has Gamergaters or some shit.

Don’t worry, no matter how many facts you throw at idiots, they’ll still deny them.

This makes it worse because I doubt there was a majority of people who were against the buttslap. It’s starting to occur with japanese devs, thanks to SJWs and the media pushing their agenda, we are not getting censored crap because the special snowflakes need coddling. I’m fucking sick of it.

  • Immahnoob

Ah, damn, I forgot about the console peasants.

    Darn.

  • inquisitormcsagington

So once again we come to the question: WHO.FUCKING.CARES?
If someone is offended by something they are, unless a paraplegic, wheeled into view of the offending article by a demented gurney nurse able to look away. Not play. Engage with other media.

And don’t give me shit about how they need to appeal to everyone-the games coming out on 2 skews-PC and PS4- so clearly they aren’t hurting for the cash that much or they’d have put it on the Xboner too (WiiU less liekly but could have happened.)

Capcom, Nintendo, Japan devs in general-OUR MEDIA IS FULL OF LIARS AND DECEIVERS. They are a bunch of angry, self obsessed media studies degrees holders who, unable to get a job in the industry they wanted, turned to video games for a quick buck. they represent no one but themselves, their jerk off buddy ‘critics’ and a coterie of devs whose sex negativity can only have come form ‘Uncle badtouch’.

Speak to us, your fans. We will support you through almost anything-bar selling your soul for SJW approval.

    Underboob = family friendly.
Slapping butt = Not family friendly.

Yeah, I’m not buying it. I don’t know what the real reason for changing the camera on Mika’s butt slap, but it clearly wasn’t censorship. For one thing, anyone complaining about the butt slap would most assuredly complain about her costume, yet it remains the same.

And then this? You’re telling me this receives the thumbs up?

    Fuck off.

  • Pillbugable

Well to be fair, the costume hasn’t been officially announced outside of a leak, I think.

Once the costume shop opens up, THEN they’ll alter it due to complaints.

  • Alistair

“Due to outside criticism” there right there what proof you needed.

I know, some people here know how censoring of a game works some how pressure groups can write shit about games in the previews/reviews.

That is one way of doing it. The feel the company going to get a negative review will hinder the sales.

Put our fucking stupid laws about western culture & Japanese culture in the mix & what have you got.

Stupid people that cry out & the next thing the game censored. A right fucking mess.

Besides street fighter is not actually a Ecchi game of what pass games were but it was a nice change like the series have grown up & have Ecchi Fanservice in it but now Censord.

  • Immahnoob
  • deadeye

Still, why would they even greenlight it? People apparently complained about Mika (although I honestly never heard anyone complain about Mika, I only see people saying that people are probably offended by it), so why would they go ahead with it if they knew what would happen and then change it?

And again, Mika’s costume remains the same, and I have to think if anyone actually complained about the butt slap, they would’ve complained about the costume as well.

None of this makes any fucking sense.

  • Cecilthedarknight_28

They are doing this for the initial release of the game in japan as well which is just a bummer =/
On this topic Nintendo of Japan did a change to Jessica’s Bikini in Dragon quest 8 port on the 3ds. At least Square-Enix decided to add additional content such as an additional ending, where you can choose to marry Jessica.

  • Immahnoob

Ono is probably too old for his job.

  • http://www.nichegamer.com Brandon Orselli

I keep thinking censoring the buttslap is Capcom’s way of kowtowing to the SJWs, while not censoring her entirely

  • Dewey Defeats Truman

I’m just gonna say the same thing I always say when this issue gets brought up.

Anyone who would be offended at an ass slap is offended at R. Mika’s design as a whole and you aren’t going to appease them with a change like this.

  • Jack

    god damn it

  • http://www.dailydpad.de HarisO

Some Capcom person had said that it’s because of rating boards so I guess that person was lying? Awww…
But still, I don’t really remember any sort of backlash regarding Mika’s butt slap? All the noise only came out once it was censored…

  • Arenegeth

OK people here we are. We’ve reached the final level of mental gymnastics.

Watch how SJW/progressive/regressive left whatever the fuck you wanna call them these days, try to wiggle their way around a direct statement, confirming what everybody that is not ideologically biased (or an idiot) already knew.

If any of you types are reading this, hey, pssst, you’re not convincing anyone, at this point I think you just trying to convince yourselves.

  • koreawut

Then, is it possible they are ‘playing the crowd’ in a sense? They know they will have some controversy, so they included something questionable that they already knew was never going to make it? For the purpose of drawing attention to that, so it could be ‘removed’ and then they’d be left alone with the rest of their game?

Are Japanese devs actually SMARTER than us? :O

  • Narmy

I remember when he trolled people who were offended by Lucky Chloe, saying he would replace her with a skinhead to please western sensibilities. Good times.

  • scemar

    Outside criticism?

That sounds like they asked someone and they were the ones telling them to censor it.

Did they consult with the nintendo treehouse or kotaku on this one?

Yeah, they’re experts of what the fans want, completely in touch with their audience, and not ideologically motivated dishonest lobby groups right?

Ono, stop being a fool and realize they’re playing you for their bitch.
Ditch that consultant group, connect with the fans, realize no one wanted this dumb ass censorship.

I ain’t even blaming the casuals or mainstream market tho because those would also find the game fun and fine as it was pre censorship.

Also what happened to that story about the ESRB doing it, was that a lie instead?

Too much cuckery, dishonesty and sjw influence going on, I’m not happy with Capcom.

  • scemar

If it looks blue, it’s blue.

  • Immahnoob

Smarter? No, they could have just went with the controversy for added sales from the Streisand effect.

    Capcom is being dumb.

  • scemar

    A true artist.
He enjoys toying with everyone, fans and haters alike, no one is safe from him. He’ll do whatever he wants.
More people like him needed in the industry.

  • Mr0303

“We don’t want anything offensive in there” – that is virtually impossible. Violence offends me. How about that?

  • https://sleeplost-sama.tumblr.com sleeplost

This is such a garbage excuse– of course this is a way to appease SJWs, but I’ve heard more complaints about the absence of her slap as opposed to the inclusion. In fact, I don’t think I heard any genuine complaints about Mika outside of clickbait Kotaku articles. This is ridiculous, honestly. Maybe it’s because they’ve partnered with Sony on the game or something, but regardless, removing a fan-service Critical Art from a character who was created around fan-service is revolting. Poison is one of the most sexually dominant characters in fighting games, and Laura’s costume has a fucking G-string. All these franchises being censored due to “outside criticism”– I don’t know how much longer I can take this.

  • Mendinso

This had less to do with Nintendo changing this but rather that the Japanese ratings board had gotten stricter since this game came out around 2005 or so.

Originally the game got an “A” (or at the time, All Ages) rating, but when the game went to get rated, to avoid getting a “B” (12+) rating, they censored the game to be an acceptable “A” rating. A couple other scenes also got censored, for violence and… the other one I’m not 100% sure on. The worst part? You can still show such things on children’s content that airs on television in Japan, and theatrical ratings board is extremely lenient when it comes to rating films in Japan. So CERO, the ratings board in Japan, has just gotten much stricter than they used to. Even the Odin Sphere re-release got a lot of content descriptors that were acceptable back when the game was originally released in Japan, now are not for an A rating. Really bizarre.

EDIT: This article should give you an idea what has recently happened: http://www.sourcegaming.info/2015/09/18/cero-and-palutenas-censorship/

  • Felix Arreguín

Fuck you, social justice warriors, FUCK YOU!

  • Dr. Roswell. W

“where you can choose to marry Jessica.” I have been waiting 11 fucking years to hear that sentence.

  • scemar

That’s the classic problem for japanese games lately.

Audiences in the west say we want pie, fans love it, the casuals like it, and it’s the embraced and usual treat we expect from them.
But the western media, our focus groups and the lobby groups say their own thing, they pretend to speak for the whole market and they tell japan we actually don’t want cake, we want unflavoured dried non offensive soy paste instead.

Reaching Japan directly should be among top priorities for everyone.

  • Mr0303

Not to mention that the Tekken series has always been consumer friendly with all the characters in there from day 1 and all the costumes being free.

  • Jack

I think this accurately describes the sitiuation

  • Superscooter

I like how privileged Chun Li is here. She gets a bruise while everyone else will need extensive plastic surgery to repair their face.

  • Superscooter

That’s not the best thing in the world if it’s being handled by some Nintendo localization team. Want to be married via dialogue delivered to you like you’re still in 2nd grade? Great!

  • British_Otaku

Again people using a label to dismiss a point not an counterargument.

  • Immahnoob

    Thanks Captain!

  • Antoinant

Mods shouldnt be the answer for every fuck-up though.

  • todd

And here I was thinking SJW’s didn’t want to take away our games lol.

  • Cecilthedarknight_28

That actually makes sense given the recent youth ordinance that came into place a few years back as well. Thank you so much for the insight.

  • Immahnoob

Never said they should. Ono can go fuck himself.

  • scemar

That’d be a dumb move because they still get the SJW hate, but now they get the indignation of everyone else and look like idiots.

Now, if they end uncensoring the game, and that gets everyone to cheer for them and fans love them again and they are praised as the heroes we need, that fell into SJW influence but managed to break free saw the mistake of their ways, now that would be a smart move, the smartest of moves.

They’d become champions of the industry for uncensoring it but I doubt they are actually that smart.

  • rBeowulf

They can censor the whole game if they want. I just won’t buy it.

    No compromises.

  • Dr. Roswell. W

    …Shit, I forgot about Nintendo.

Why must everything I love, hurt me so much?

  • evilmajikman

All he really did was offend R.Mika fans. This was a part of her character long before SF5 was announced. There’s a bishoujo figure of her SFA3 design immortalized with the butt slap.

  • Cecilthedarknight_28

I never said “it was the best thing ever” You get this ending you have to do series of event’s in the main play-though of the game.

Regardless at least square-enix added something like this for the fans. Now what I find to be funny is that Jessica’s Angel Leotard has not altered/censored in anyway.

  • Zednum

Not taking them away, just butcher them by claiming sexism, racism, etc. at every single opportunity, leaving the end product a sanitized, soulless carcass of its former self.

  • Cecilthedarknight_28

    just a few more months..

  • MGNoxa

    Poppycock!

  • Mighty No. 56008

Be it internal or external reasons, it was stupid to make the change as it makes absolutely no sense.

Why was the butt slap not ok, but super revealing outfits are still good?
Why is it ok to show topless men? You can see nipples!!?!
And why are you trying to appease those who probably weren’t going to buy your game anyway?

I’m not even mad this time, just super confused with the logic.

  • ρяøxч

I wish voting with my dollar felt like it had impact, but I know far too many people will settle for self-censorship anyways.

    If that’s the case…

“Hot” Ryu is everything wrong with male depictions in videogames and sets an impossible standards for men everywhere. Mr. Ono, I’m offended by his appearance and demand that he be presented in more relatable and un-problematic attire. If you wish to stand by your statement and not offend anyone, you would heed my advice, as well other like-minded individuals regarding “Hot” Ryu. #NotHotRyu.

SJWs might censor my games but they will never censor my mods!
Speaking of which did anyone here about the Steam Curator group called Cut-Content Police? It’s a Curator with the sole intention of warning users of games that have been in some way censored due to cut, edited, changed, or overall modified content that is not simply a change in vision.
This curator and The Framerate Police are the only curators on steam worth following.

  • 3thau65uk65u

It’s possible that Capcom preemptively censored a couple bits from the game to not only appease SJWs but ensure they have their moment of manufactured outrage and then leave SF5 alone forever

  • KiTA

You don’t get it. Few people do. They don’t want to take away our games. They don’t think they should have to.

If they play their cards right, the Japanese companies won’t even make them in the first place. Then there won’t be anything to take away.

They’re not censors. They’re trying to get us to censor ourselves.

  • Immahnoob

    Except the devs, it seems.

    Or at least, Ono.

  • Richard Miller

Sadly it’s what we have to do as the censoring and the SJWs warpath won’t stop until gaming is dead. I wish their was a way for console gamers to over come this censorship to but I can’t think of any.

  • dsadsada

“It’s been a year and a half, no one buys the corrupt media lies.”

It is also worth mentioning that that the 2012 XBLA/PSN digital download re-release of Sega’s Fighting Vipers in the US alone got rated E10+ completely uncensored: http://www.esrb.org/ratings/Sy… on the sexual fan service on the games most popular character named Candy/Honey who is underage BTW when she has no armor/skirt:

ala Sevran Kagura series/Ikki Tousen series before both series even though Candy/Honey when she has no armor/skirt is far more tame in comparison to the laters. It even manages to get her underage mentioned uncensored compared to the first Sevran Kagura game released in the US, in witch the ages were not mentioned at all in the US release of the first Sevran Kagura game.

And it also got away with some blood uncensored as well:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR4i2HzWVCE

,heck to make things more confusing, in Japan the game was rated CERO C, witch in Japan, is a High-End T/Low-End M rating their for sexual content, but not the violence oddly enough: https://store.playstation.com/…, this is a totally opposite of what the original Sega Saturn release had back in the day, http://www.gamefaqs.com/saturn…, and http://www.gamefaqs.com/saturn… the US version was T rated in censored form: http://gaminghell.co.uk/Fighti… and http://www.mobygames.com/game/… with the Japanese release being all ages rating uncut in Japan. See this is why I think we need to empty out say North Dakota wall it off except one highway in cart in all the SJWs and from the US sever it from the phone and power grid of the US then never let them out into decent society. Occasionaly truck food and water in and tell them if they want power or anything else better hope there are some engineers and scientists that could keep the power plants running. Granted I assume the would all die the first winter but it is not like anything of value to the world would be lost. Ok rereading that maybe I am going too far.

  • Daryl Corey

They know there are enough FGC members that will take being shit on by Capcom and pay them for the game anyways so they can get away with it

  • Tyrannikos

We must protect this child’s eyes! Censor, quickly!

  • Pilebunker

I have a good feeling they only did the censorship for publicity. They did it much earlier in development and then added a bunch of fan service costumes. They sure got everyone talking about SFV even after everyone was revealed. They probably said this to try and take some of the heat off themselves by pretending to be victims of SJW ideology, while still having everyone talk about SFV. Even the fact that the censorship only consists of sloppily moving the camera to another spot makes me think this was a quick decision that took no effort to make.

“We don’t want to censor your games!”

Capcom and Ono are pretty damn whack sometimes. It’s too bad that SF5 is a must-buy for me. I can at least admit, in shame, that much.

  • CrusaderEsper

I’ll just leave this here for you all.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsFpQZNHH6E

  • Gale

I’m more offended by R. Mika’s costume just looking bad in general than I am over her slapping her ass.
Wrasslin’ and wrasslers slap their ass all the time. That’s where her who schtick comes from.

  • Neojames82

    Nice flip flopping there, Capcom.

  • Fenrir7

FUCKING FEMINISTS AND SJWS AREN’T YOUR AUDIENCE, ASSHOLE!!!

  • Badmojo7

What bullshit, giving in to people who do not even play the fucking game. Do not let up, keep letting them know that this shit is unacceptable and by trying to avoid “controversy”, they are just creating another type of controversy. Better to please your paying fans than a bunch of losers who do not play games and who want to ruin games for other people.

  • Go D. Usopp

Well I mean you do good coverage of stuff I like, I just sometimes feel like stuff here swings too hard in the “opposite” direction of the other stuff we adblock and I don’t do double standards. Not a comment on the quality of the site

  • luggage lad

stop showing this. capcom is going to remove the outfit from the game.

    REMOVE THIS.

  • Go D. Usopp

In this context “edit” is a better word. Localisation implies it was done by a localisation company. This was a decision made internally by the people who put the content there to begin with. Reasons are irrelevant, censorship is done to you. That’s why “localisation” is censorship, it’s done by an external group

  • An Honest Opinion

Instead of fucking up the game for everyone, why don’t they just give these perpetually offended people the option of switching a damn toggle in settings?

That way the 10 or so who buy it can switch off the “offending” content and the rest of us can play the damn game the way it was meant to be played.

  • TsukuyomiMagi99

Fuck you too Ono. Your whole reply was to fuck the fans to save your sorry asses by not tarnishing your precious brand name. We fans have every right to curse you out for your callous attitude towards your fans. Have you forgotten who it was who made you a successful company and saved your sorry asses when you were about to go bankrupt. So when it’s convenient for you you’ll come begging your fans for money otherwise you’ll just flip us the finger.

We didn’t ask you to add a butt slap or a cunt shot you did that yourself. If you wanted to not piss off your hardcore fans while protecting your brand maybe you should’ve thought about that before you coded that shit in you fucking morons. We are merely holding to the standards YOU set for yourself.

Fuck you Capcom, Fuck you Ono, and fuck you SJW’S you’re the reason as to why this bullshit is happening. I am done saying to uncensor the game because I know you don’t give a fuck about your fans. So I am not gonna even buy this game used.

  • Jettythesunfish

Didn’t they say it WASN’T because of outside influences?

  • http://thewiredfishnetwork.com/ Steven T.

Damn, that ass slapping to the snare drum just makes me wanna see some kind of Killer Instinct-style dynamic music modded in somehow.

  • Didney Worl

Ah, nothing like good old fashioned backpedaling.

  • Jettythesunfish

That and people clearly knew it was indeed because of outside influences. This revelation shocked no one.

  • buddyluv324

The reason I asked if you prefer “localization” ( notice the quotes on the word btw) because it seems to be a cheap and disingenuous scapegoat when the topic censorship in games. “Localization” is not playing a moral gatekeeper in games and to coddle to the demographic they’re after from content that they objectively find offensive.

Also labeling it as an edit wont make the situation with SF5 better. Dont forget that this is the same Capcom who claimed that Street Fighter is a “family friendly” series.

No one is arguing that the developers made the changes themselves. But dont forget that theres almost ALWAYS a reason behind their actions. When you get down to the bottom of it its always going to be amount money. Capcom trying to play themselves by claiming not to want to offend players so they removed Mika’s assslap is the definition of censorship. Too bad it doesnt hold much water when there are a number of suggestive alternate ( and even some default) costumes that could just as easily be considered offensive which make their stand even more shady.

  • Phasmatis75

We want everyone to enjoy the game, but not the people who are actually willing to buy the game.

  • sanic

All it means is I don’t buy it until it’s dirt cheap if at all.

  • Didney Worl

…You know what? I can’t even get mad anymore. These stories have become more and more commonplace now, that it’s beginning to remind me of game localization in the 90’s. Well, considering the amount of 90’s throwbacks that have been popping up lately, might as well go all the way.

But seriously, seeing these kinds of articles pop up every week is kind of depressing and mentally exhausting. I’m tired of all this negativity and political agendas in something as innocuous as video games. I play games to ESCAPE from the constant negativity of the real world, not to have it follow me everywhere.

Then again, I’m not exactly helping myself by clicking and reading these articles. I wish I could just turn off the part of my brain that cares about these stories.

…I think I’m gonna take a break from visiting gaming sites for awhile. I’m gonna go to sleep, and tomorrow after work, I’m gonna go binge-watch some anime, I just got the complete series of Patlabor on blu-ray. I’ve never seen it before, so I’m excited to watch it for the first time.

  • Burst Limit

The ESRB rating system is a joke .

  • No_Good_Names_Ever

I wonder if Ono had any say in it.

  • No_Good_Names_Ever

Maybe Capcoms US branch is compromised though that would be weird since I don’t think they ever listened to them in the first place.

  • No_Good_Names_Ever

    Capcom are just crazy.

  • Biglos93

Name one kids cartoon on nick,or cartoon network or pixar/dreamworks movie that doesnt focus on the butt to entertain its veiwers!
    ~Pssss- they all do~

  • No_Good_Names_Ever

Wow, Capcom had a dark childhood…

  • Raiden

There are rumors (not confirmed) that a member of the ESRB with social justice leanings, threatened the company with an M rating for the game if they didn’t remove a certain portion of the sexual content. Not wanting to remove the sexy brazilian or any of the characters returning after years of abscence, they had to make a compromise.

It could be true, but if it is Capcom’s being hush about it. and if it is true then Gamers have a much MUCH bigger problem on the horizon. SJW’s in the ESRB.

  • No_Good_Names_Ever

Every time I see him, I keep thinking of “The Last of Us”.

  • Biglos93

Name one kids cartoon that doesn’t focus on butts to entertain its audience
    ~Psssss they all do~

  • No_Good_Names_Ever

    “Nick”
Dan the man with the plan Schneider can get away with it and no one will say anything.

    “cartoon network”
New season for Symbionic Titan never ever.

    “pixar/dreamworks”
No one said shit about Rileys nude scene in that emotion movie.

  • Raiden

and that my friend, is why the outrage brigade will eventually win the culture war. They never get tired, but eventually we get weary of hearing them talk and cave in, and they have no other hobby but to try and ruin what we enjoy. While people like you and me have other hobbies, and commitments to family and such to take care of the SJW’s don’t. It’s like Communism in that respect.

It doesn’t matter if they gain 20 inches and lose 19, all that matters to them is that they got that one inch because a few of us were just too exhausted to even bother anymore.

  • Raiden

Exactly! Dead Or Alive 5 had the option to turn off the Gainaxing and clothing damage! Why couldn’t Capcom do the same?

  • Fear Me I Am Free

I meant SJWs aren’t the majority.

  • MusouTensei

    Fuck Capcom.

  • True Goddess Reincarnation

This whole thing is stupid. How are you gonna say that just cause YOUR employees feel weirded out on something they are not working at?

  • Pooh Hardy

    we got gigas though….so yeah

  • bob

Capcom, you messed up a lot in the past. I actually thought you were going to change things for the better for your company. Guess I was foolish think you were capable of that. Now it seems like your trying to take the necessary step to anger your fans in order please certain people who don’t buy your games. Not to mention all those DLCs.

Capcom, have you tried looking in the mirror lately?

  • deadeye

I’m not entirely familiar with the inner workings of the ESRB, but I’m pretty sure a board of people decide on a games rating. One person doesn’t have the power to do that sort of thing.

And when you look at games like Senran Kagura getting a T rating, I think that kinda throws some doubt on the claim.

  • bateruchan

no one can deny there is a split in GamerGate between the people you’re talking about (ethics people) and the people who sling shit and shout “SJW” at anything that is even slightly left-leaning in tone.

    Let’s not even kid ourselves.

  • bateruchan

capcom could not give a modicum of a shit less about nichegamer.com

    let’s be realistic.
    also, the internet forgets nothing.

  • bateruchan

i’m so tired. i’m going to sleep.

i don’t want to wake up to this anymore.

  • bateruchan

her hands are so big it’s creeping me out

  • Raiden

    Several someones perhaps?

  • epy

Street Fighter V Safe Space Edition.

  • Nagato

    B-b-but it’s green on Namek!

  • Nagato

Still way too offensive for the puritans to buy this game, but at the same time removing what they already did is enough to keep normal people from spending money on the game as well.

Good job, Capcom! You managed to make SFV go from a day one purchase to a heavily discounted purchase at best for me!

  • Barking dog

But mr Ono I don’t enjoy this new SFV that much anymore, put fun things in like butt cams and you could also have option to turn em off. Actually this is pretty much answer to anything SJW and other retards spout out and wanna censor, just make them switch that makes the game boring political correct garbage and let regular people enjoy their uncensored game.

  • Barking dog

movie and game industry should not be so afraid of M rating

  • Barking dog

yeah, using roids fucks you up easily

  • Raiden
  • Immahnoob
  • Jack

Wait, they’re complaining about the butt slap and not the fact that Laura is literally stereotypical Brazilian and her entire stage revolves around soccer and how the big jesus statue got replaced by a giant soccer trophy

I can’t make sense of it

  • Barmont

Naked women representing my country offend me a little.

With Laura and Christie Monteiro (Tekken), the image of the brazilian woman spreaded to the world is that they all wear SL*T clothes like this everyday.
This is normal on Carnaval (Carnival), which is a cultural festival. You don’t see horny sexy women all the time.

  • Wonderkarp

welp, I’m still buying this game. Its Street Fighter. I buy it for the fighting, not the T&A or lack there of,

BUT I will not buy it retail. I’ll be buying this second hand. from some fool on ebay or in a local used store or pawn shop. Cause I know people will buy it anyway, and resell it anyway. so I’ll grab mine with those shit stickers that leave the package all sticky

  • 萌ゲー

Capcom, your products are starting to contradict each other.

  • Izzy Lichi

i am never buying another street fighter game again after reading this.
Ono, you are a dishonorable traggot idiot. You have brought dishonor to your franchise and family for bowing to lesser being’s sensitivities.

  • Ninjagai

I guess they’re trying to protect it’s image of being pandery and spineless. No buy.

  • Ero-Sennin

Hey Cap-com; How about you guy’s stop being a bunch of hypocrites and stop trying to cater to a crowd that isn’t going to even buy your product?, you removed the R.Mika buttslap and cammy crotch shot only to have the same demographic of people bitch about the sexy costumes for the female characters? When will you realize these people will never be satisfied!? By doing this you are essentially alienating your main fan base A.K.A the people who are going to buy your product and put cash in your pocket. The reason why I said hypocritical is you keep a revealing under-boob outfit for Laura and the natural asses of both Cammy & R.Mika are showing!, If your so keen on making SF so family friendly all of a sudden then cover up R.mika’s ass cheeks on her outfit same with cammy while your at it. So many game companies doing this shit nowadays not realizing that no matter what you do someone is gonna get offended by something.

  • Go D. Usopp

At best you could call it self censorship since as I said, actual censorship is done TO you. But its only even that if you can prove they did it out of fear and not willingly to appeal to another market. Which you cant. Pretty much everything points to the latter (and no the “x doesnt buy games” argument wont pass for a refutation before someone says it)

  • http://varms.net Gillman

And remember, they don’t want to “change” gaming/games. They just want to have a discussion about it.

I am so glad they aren’t changing anything.

  • Brimfyre

I wish one company would try this with one game, just as an experiment. Keep the “offensive” stuff behind some kind of option, and then send the data back to the publisher as to how many people decided to turn off the “offensive” content. I think they will see that no one will turn it off and this problem will solve itself.

  • Brimfyre

So in early builds there was a lot of bouncy boobs. Have those all been toned down or removed? Also Mika’s costume hasn’t changed has it? Just the animation, right?

  • Obbliglol

Pretty sure that same-sex thing concerning FE was fake, don’t worry too much. Friendly reminder what Kotaku were the ones that randomly stated as fact that FFXV was cancelled, they can and will continue to outright make shit up to get clicks.

Unfortunately, the petting mini-game still might not make it with Nintendo’s current regime.

  • Antoinant

    >Never heard of self-censorship and pressure to appeal
As usual, Go D. Ussop shows his faggotery

  • Sebastian Mikulec

beyond balancing and frame data, they have a strong focus on the “identity” of their franchise, and will make sure it’s not “compromised.”

    Too late

  • Go D. Usopp

    >Never read my later comments
    As usual, showing your incompetence

  • Zanard Bell

Reality check: it’s a freaking fighting game. In what world is a fighting game considered ‘family-friendly’?

  • ZangRap

“I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.” – Bill Cosby

  • Antoinant

“It’s not censorship if it appeals to another/wider market”
You know how retarded that logic is, especially when the edits just appeal to a vocal group advocating for political-correctness and censorship of “inappropriate” things.

  • chizwoz

A Japanese guy said the word “cognizant”?

  • chizwoz

Who is this guy? A Tekken dev?

  • OverlordZetta

Not exactly the guy to be quoting here, to be fair.

  • Black_Bob

I actually agree with this tactic – because this is exactly how this is being attacked right now. We have to take the battle to their turf.

  • OverlordZetta

In our world where violence has become family friendly and kids can be zombies for Halloween.

  • ZangRap

The words are still pretty much true, regardless who says it. Not fan of Bill Cosby myself, but he’s still right about this.

  • Brimfyre

Well, he definitely understands pleasing himself.

  • Mr Silvio

If Capcom cares more about a feminutzee eceleb than about the more than 8000 gamers who signed this petition: https://www.change.org/p/capcom-do-not-censor-street-fighter-v , then I know very well where NOT to spend my money.

  • Black_Bob

This Max Payne quote is perfect…thank you.

  • Cheese sticks

This doesn’t make sense. I can strawman every character and say that is not family friendly. Blanca is insulting south american people, zangief russians (of course, this part doesn’t matter, putin is bad) and a lot more.

  • ZangRap

    Yep, can’t argue that.

  • bateruchan

oh i know, but it wouldn’t surprise me, after that stephen universe shit in the UK?
    Like the climate is ripe.

I want the game to NOT get butchered more but… fuck, dude. Who knows?

  • Slayven19

But tekken doesn’t make a fraction of the money Streefighter makes anymore. I hope the best with T7 but tekken console sales are never great on release.

  • Slayven19

Well that doesn’t really work because its a fighting game, if you don’t like fighters you wouldn’t be intested anyway. The things that people complain about are secondary to the genre.

  • Slayven19

Well japan doesn’t handle criticism well. Have you never seen then in the past when gamers criticise their games? They suck at interviews during that time for the most part.

  • Immahnoob

Dude, I’m sure they can’t handle criticism, but they can’t even think for themselves now?

  • Kiryu

Then these people must be very stupid/naive.

  • Go D. Usopp

I never said it was a wider market nor did I say it was a good decision. I think it was as stupid as the rest of you do. All i’m saying is that even calling it “self censorship” doesn’t fly unless you can prove they did it out of fear and not because they mistakenly thought SJWs are a worthwhile market share. That’s it. Nothing else is relevant to my point
The article headline says “censorship”, which it’s definitely not, and it shouldn’t even say “self censorship” since it can’t be proven. Which is why I consider them doing this clickbait, hence the original comment about adblocking
If you want to assume that they did it out of fear and call it self censorship then by all means, but there’s no proof so personally I refuse

  • British_Otaku

I haven’t seen Ono speak in English extensively so it is probably an official interpretation.

  • Ruggarell

    Get over it.

  • Fear Me I Am Free

There are some, but it’s also important to realize a lot of this corruption is called be SJWs.

  • vileBrenman

This is literally the stupidest thing ever… while it is strange that capcom would censor this one thing specifically its even stranger that people are still arguing and getting mad about it. Poor R mika her ass has become the battleground of sjw’s and anti-sjw’s. Honestly what the hell has the gaming community become now it’s all about “this is too offensive”vs. “This is sjw pandering” its so bullshit that censorship this minimal gets such a huge reaction.

  • snugdarkly

I’ll avoid buying street fighter so that I don’t offend myself.

  • snugdarkly

No amount of censorship is okay.

  • tccboss

I remember hearing thet brought the butt slap back is that true?

  • vileBrenman

Yeah but it’s just a butt cheek. If they had never shown us the “uncensored” version then there wouldn’t have been a problem. And this isn’t an act of censorship that takes away gameplay elements like the whole scandle with the possible censorship of the new fire emblem game. Also they didn’t even censor her outfit just a few brief seconds of butt cheek.

  • Thanatos2k

But instead they offended far more people. Utter buffoons. Why cater to people who won’t even play your game?

  • Thanatos2k

E Honda doesn’t even look like he lost!

  • Thanatos2k

You’re saying you can’t have a fighting game without violence? Incorrect!

  • Cael

Here. Have one from the Metro City stage.

  • luggage lad

    I know. I’m merely joking.

  • Biglos93

    I was thinking more like:
    Spongebob
    Fairly odd parents
    Cow and chicken
    Adventure time
    Amazing world of gumball
    Madagascar
    Teen titans go
Steven universe (on occasions like pearl and amethyst a few times)
    Ed edd and eddy
    Incedibles
Those are the ones off the top of my head but there’s plenty more

  • No_Good_Names_Ever

Lotta inhumans and animals in that list. Also Ed Edd & Eddy and Incredibles were made and ended back when the world still had its sanity intact.

  • NuclearKangaroo

well to be honest, even this explanation doesnt make much sense, if they are trying to be non-offensive, why did they add those skimpy costumes?

so a buttslap is bad but underboobs are fine?

not to mention that we got multiple versions of the store from capcom, atleast one of them balmed the ESRB

i honestly dont know what the reason reason for the change is

  • bateruchan

censorship is used by any and all authoritarian groups, including right-authoritarian (i shouldn’t have to point out that some, not all, anti-SJW people would be more than happy to silence them for good and limit their freedom of speech; containing their socio-polical views in editorials is not good enough to those people).

there is a reason that at the beginning of gamergate, anti-SJW shit was not centre of focus, and was contained and you would get chewed out for ranting about it in the hashtag: because knocking SJW shit out wasn’t the point. one can be ethical, and be pro-LGBT or even consider themselves a feminist. it’s called containing that shit in editorials, with a big disclaimer that it is personal opinion, and not letting your feelings be the hallmark of your reviews or coverage of media.

there was a time where the right wing demanded censorship too, but it was violence censorship at the front of it primarily. never fucking forget.

somewhere along the line, it became less contained and became primarily an anti-sjw movement, with the pretense of ethics in journalism as an excuse to hide behind. or, at least, that’s how it appears to be now. most of the GG containment threads and the main subreddit is all about anti-SJW shit, with very little to do about journalism AT ALL. “these people are pandering to SJW!” and other posts like that.

if GamerGate just admitted that, at this point, the focus was on censorship and was anti-SJW as its primary focus, i wouldn’t bother to point this out, but they hang onto this idea of “n-no it’s about Ethics In Journalism”, which just seems so… fake, when Kotaku in Action is a google search away, and even the GG thread on /v/ is basically bitching about barbie dolls and other shit like that.

i say ‘split’ to be nice, but the real focus seems to have shifted altogether. no, putting some links at the top of the thread with the original focus does not dissuade me (and others) from thinking this way.

you can say “ah, but it is simply SJWs doing this so” but that’s erasing history. both sides, once the authoritarian side gets dominance, will seek to destroy things. that’s the nature of authoritarian political movements. and that’s a shame, because i remember when gamergate’s prime quote was that they (we, really, as at that time i was in there too) wanted politics out of our vidya.

and now it has become a left-right dichotomy like every fucking thing else, with people being ridiculed for not wanting to vote trump in and not wanting to completely eradicate and silence their (left-wing) opponents.

there is a reason people began dropping out and there is a reason it leaves a heavy distaste in my mouth now, and it’s not because i jumped ship to buttfuck an SJW ~totez bisexual guys~ cuck.

  • Biglos93

Butts are butts no matter what there animations. Im just making a point about street fighter v. The developers saying that there making it family freindly by not focusing on a few butt shots im all for the r mika butt slap
    #Slapwhatyaonogaveya

  • buddyluv324

“But its only even that if you can prove they did it out of fear and not willingly to appeal to another market. Which you cant.”

In case you havent been following on whats been going on up until now, Ono himself basically admitted to changing the camera angles including covering Mika’s ass slap so they would try to avoid making players feel uncomfortable and to try to cater to a wider audience outside of the fighting community. Source on that part of the interview is here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=188478050&postcount=851

Also the product manager at Capcom not only confirmed what i stated previously but also claims that Street Fighter is a “family friendly” franchise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77UJW4cWNNY&feature=youtu.be&t=50m28s

So yes it is self censorship which i agree to an extent. It still doesn’t change the fact that they’re doing out out of fear of offending someone with certain aspects of their product and that its now confirmed that there’s also some sort of outside influence that’s behind these changes.

  • No_Good_Names_Ever

This ^ is a guy who puts pants on cats and throws people in prison on charges of molestation for petting kittens.

  • RetroGamer

I kind-of miss the beaten up faces of 90’s fighters. Seeing this after losing a match makes it sting just a tad bit more.

  • Xoranios Fellheart

I really don’t care about Street Fighter the game, but this is pathetic. -_-

To see such a popular franchise get botched by the “valid criticisms” they received; it sets a bad precedent for what could possibly happen to other franchises if they fall for this social justice BS.

  • Lea Pastillaroja

Crapcom and ono can both eat shit and suck pirate’s dick, When this game comes out i’m gonna download it just to seed the torrent.
And i don’t even like Street Fighter (i’m a KoF nigger), i’m just gonna do this to spite Crapcom for bowing down to SJWs

  • Alistair

The thing with gamergate with ethnics is I found SJWs, censorship in games tie together why if media press didn’t go on about questionable content & just foces on the gameplay then this whole f-in games mess wouldn’t happen.

& you must be a SJWs to write shit about games & can’t be rat arse bother about gameplay.

& before gamergate happen Zoe Quinn herself had to use “censorship” by deleting people post that may criticism of her.

Antia use that censorship of locking the comments on YouTube that like she have the 1st & last say on the matter like a coward.

Then the media press turn against the very readers calling gamers ID is dead & compared gamers to IS gamergate really must have hit a bloody nerve.

So If you pro-censorship you are a SJW if you a anti-censorship then you not.

If you don’t care about censorship or hate censorship then you can have a say you come from a group the I don’t care group.

But if you belong to the silent pro-censorship group like “hmm I can see why it have to be but that just my opinion”

That alright too what is not alright is the media press label something that no intreasted in the gameplay itself & wont even buy it themselves or calling people sexist, mysognist, & demand changes in games from lobbyists (censorship)

The fight goes on if more Dev does a KT & IFI then we reach a crisis point & it won’t be the gamers but SJWs fucktards.

  • Go D. Usopp

“Fear” false, wanting to appeal to another market is not fear it’s business, nothing you just said even makes the most remote bit of sense

Unless you’re basing it entirely on the MASSIVELY flawed premise of “X doesn’t buy games”, assuming that Capcom shares in Nichegamers collective delusions and deciding that it thus proves it can’t have been a (bad) business move, you are wrong

  • buddyluv324

In case you didnt real my last comment here’s what I previously pointed out:

“Ono himself basically admitted to changing the camera angles including
covering Mika’s ass slap so they would try to avoid making players feel
uncomfortable AND to try to cater to a wider audience outside of the
    fighting community”

I pointed out two separate reasons for the changes, so I never said anything about fear. But since you’ve pointed that out, if its fear of anything one can suspect its its fear of them not profiting off of the game if not marketed to the most audience. It doesnt have as much to do with them offending players as its more to do with making money. At the end Capcom is more about their bottom line then making SF a “family friendly” franchise.

With that said though, it still doesn’t explain Capcom’s constant shaky PR stance on the issue of the camera angles. It’ll be one thing if it was a sort of glitch error that was fixed later on, but their original statement on the changes being internal doesnt jive with Ono now saying thats its outside feedback. It also doesn’t explain some of the risque alternate costumes for certain characters if they wanted SF not to offend players and to be “family friendly.” This isnt the first time Capcom has lied to their audience and from the looks of it certainly not the last.

If you’re going to get upset at someone, get upset at Capcom for not being clear and honest with its fansase and them not knowing exactly what they want out of the game. Nichegamer, Kotaku, NeoGAF, and other gaming media thats reported on this are not to blame on this one. In other words dont kill the messenger ( as long as the source is accurate of course).

  • Go D. Usopp

None of that changes the fact that it doesnt match any reasonable definition of censorship though

It wasnt done to them they chose to do it, and they didnt make that choice because they were terrified of the wrath of the SJWs or some nonsense. They thought it would make the game more marketable

Whether theyre wrong or not is also irrelevant. Calling it censorship is either intellectual failure or intentional clickbait

  • buddyluv324

That’s why I agreed to it being more as self-censorship issue, but its still a specific type of censorship. I already stated that Capcom themselves made the decision in what we’re finding out now as a response to the feedback they received as oppose to their earlier statement about the decision to change the angles being internal. Nowhere in the article is stated that Capcom was forced in anyway to the changes, but like I mentioned before they made the changes in part so not to offend players as a result of the feedback they were getting which is stated in the article. Removing something that can be considered offensive IS the definition of a type of censorship.

You may want to read up more on the article about the topic entirely and of the previous articles prior before labeling something as clickbait because you seem to be fishing for something that’s not present. If you’re so hungry into looking for clickbait articles, look up Kat Bailey’s article on Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2: http://www.usgamer.net/articles/yes-castlevania-lords-of-shadow-2-did-make-me-feel-uncomfortable-

  • Go D. Usopp

    Title says censorship, not self

Still not self censorship because that implies a fear of being forced to censor anyway. Its an edit. And its still an internal decision even if they tooj feedback. They asked for said feedback and agreed with it

This is completely clear cut 0% censorship and calling it such is stirring controversy

  • King of Bros

Nigga keeps changing his fucking story.

Next time he gives an interview he’ll say they changed it because he’s afraid the ayylmaos will visit earth and judge the game too harshly or something.

  • buddyluv324

You do realized what you just described about Capcom taking feedback IS them making those changes due to outside influence. And what I mean by outside influence is those who may have gotten to play the beta stages of the game thats been released for those who signed up. They may not have a stake in development the game or even taken a part of its programming so I dont believe they’re considered internal.

There is no higher power above or any sort of government forcing Capcom to change the camera angles. I think that much we can all agree on. But it doesnt change the fact that Capcom making these changes for those who are easily offended, and also admitted so, and want to play good PR by trying to sell the series to these people as “family friendly” when it was never the case prior to SF5.

Its fine if you dont agree with the article. It’s just inaccurate to call it clickbait when the source behind these articles are 100% straight from the horses mouth, even when that horse doesnt completely know what it wants to be.

  • King of Bros

Bah gawd now every other country is gonna think you have sexy women.

    The horror.

  • Ero-Sennin

    That’s horrifying…

  • Go D. Usopp

Taking feedback willingly and editing based on it will never be censorship. Its pretty much completely standard behaviour. If this is censorship EVERYTHING has been censored to some degree

    Better quit gaming

  • buddyluv324

    “Better quit gaming”

So this where you want to take the discussion now? I guess im not surprised seeing as how you keep trying twisting my words about and ignoring Capcom’s weak, PR moves on the matter.

An edit, as you keep calling it, is something like fixing a messed up hitbox or some sort framerate drop in gameplay that may have been overlooked. With Mika’s ass slap, Capcom intentionally put it into the game at first, but censored the slap due to those getting offended by it. There’s a difference between editing and censoring.

Out of all the comments you’ve made thus far not once have you proven how the article itself is clickbait other than you getting triggered by Nichegamer using the word censorship. The source is there and accurate to back up the article. But I’ve commented on the subject for too long. I’m when Nichegamer puts out another article on the topic of censorship, i’m sure you’ll be back.

Better step it up on those reading and dictionary skills the next time you want to talk about the topic again.

  • Go D. Usopp

So its only censorship if its a visual element regardless of context? Your logic (or lack therof) is embarrassing frankly

Im not ignoring what Capcom said, nothing they said is censorship. Again, censorship is not a willful decision you make of your own accord because you want to. Doesnt matter if its about an ass slap or people getting offended. Believe it or not some people choosr not to offend

Youre being ridiculous. Also kek at saying “triggered” as if im offended and not just embarrassed that the site we moved to to avoid controversy baiting is doing it too

  • buddyluv324

Really? Are you honestly this backwards? I’m asking because I’m wondering where you’re getting that i’m implying that censorship is only applied to a visual element. I don’t know how you came up with that logic, but your reaching is pathetic.

But if we’re going to make something clear, censorship in gaming isn’t just visually. Certain gameplay features, story elements and even audio in games have been the target of censoring at some point. Some examples of this is the rubbing mini-game on Mugen Souls that was cut from the NA release and certain characters and ( i think) story elements were toned down for the NA release of the first Drakengard game in some form or another.

As for censoring either being done willfully or not, it more has to do with who is censoring and what is being censored. Like I said earlier it can be someone above the creator censoring that element that can be offensive or in Capcom’s case try avoid anymore negative backlash of Mika’s ass slap they’ve gotten from outside feedback and self-censor themselves while claiming SF5 to be “family-friendly.”

Btw if you’re so embarrassed by this site, why do I see you keep coming back to it?

  • Go D. Usopp

Gotta get news somewhere and I prefer this kind of controversy baiting to the SJW kind. Simple enough

You seemed to be implying that its censorship solely because what they cut was an ass slap. If you dont want me thinking you said something dumb, dont say dumb shit

Censorship is decided by context not content. The context of this is that the developers wilfully changed their own game based on feedback they chose to take. Aka not censorship in ANY situation

  • guyman

    fine, i’m going for it.

oh, your culture is represented in video games and you don’t like it? humm … okay, how about you fucking change your own culture then instead of telling vidya devs to do it for you? holy shit, this is so stupid, why did i bite?

  • snugdarkly

No. Amount. Of. Censorship. Is. Okay. Still.

  • buddyluv324

“Censorship is decided by context not content.”

You’re only partially right. But if its just context, then you would have to ask the reasoning and the intent behind those changes which again Ono and Capcom stated. From there you can take it however you like with any decorative description you want to label it as. Just dont expect too many people to do the same when everyone else can read between the lines…..and dont forget that we are talking about the same Capcom that screwed over the MM fanbase with MML3 and backed away from working on a new Darkstalkers game to push out another version of SF4. Granted, those examples are not the same topic that we’re talking about, but those should give you some idea on what Capcom is.

  • Gamer

I was talking about the ‘harassment’ lies. It’s good that we’ve moved on from those false allegations.

Are there really ‘ethics people’? You’d have to be really dumb to ignore SJWs and still claim to stand up for Gaming. The Bay Area Moral Majority, Sensitive ‘Just-Us’ Crybabies, Egotistical Mid-to-Upper Class Marxist Censors, or whatever you want to call them, breed corruption and anti-meritocracy. They are the cause and the censorship, corruption, cronyism, and unethical actions we see are the effect.

So if there really is a split of people who deny SJW exist, I feel sad for them. Wait til the certain game (or other hobby) they care about gets tampered with, censored, or removed.

I honestly don’t care about who gets into whatever shouting match, or dumb twatter name callings.

  • Gamer

Some devs/pubs. XSEED stands up against the BS, one member got banned from neogaf for (basically) saying they wouldn’t censor their games.

  • Barmont

Carnaval is an event that only occurs one time a year. Sexy women is not the only thing my country has to offer to the world. And Carnaval is not only about sexy women, it’s about music, nature and folklore. SFV is not representing my culture, it’s only saying we have hot women. Have you ever heard about sex turism?
I almost forgot! Here, take this interpretation trophy. You’ve earned it.

  • bateruchan

my point is is there are sane people who realise that authoritarian left-wing extremists are the same as authoritarian right-wing extremists and the idea of us vs them should just be the top of that circle of extremity.

“b-but you don’t see the right-wing asking for–”

that’s because the right wing is losing right now and that’s it.

  • Gamer

Ok, I do agree with that.

Awhile back someone coined the term ‘Cultural Libertarian’ that includes people from both the ‘left’ and ‘right’. Anti-extremists (of both left & right) if you will.

These people seem the most rational to me. If they can be inflammatory, that’s only because of humor or what is needed to point out what is wrong with extremists on both sides.

Damn, I really just want gaming to be free to do as it pleases. Let the games fall if people don’t like ’em, but just leave us (gamers & devs) alone to play or create freely.

  • bateruchan

i just call myself a centrist, with a social leaning left and a downward leaning on authority (so, libertarian leanings). ‘cultural libertarian’ is likely more accurate, but i don’t like getting into political labels much

and yeah i wish gaming wuold be left alone too

  • guyman

Well, it’s a fighting game, obviously your culture’s gonna be represented in a visual way (could be musical as well but you need the whole package if you don’t want ti to seem uncanny). How do you not find this obvious? Even if it’s just 1 day per year and all the other days people look like every other guy on earth isn’t it obvious they’re gonna wanna use the special stuff that makes you different from the rest of the world to represent your culture? Why make a bland ass character that could be english, hungarian, austrian, norwegian or brazilian and then say they belong to a certain nationality? It’s completely pointless in that case. I mean, fuck, why did I have to tell you this? You seriously couldn’t figure this out on your own?

  • Barmont

“Sexy women is not the only thing my country has to offer to the world. And Carnaval is not only about sexy women”.
You clearly don’t understand my point, so please just let this topic die. There’s no explanation needed here, and I didn’t ask for any explanation. I just gave my opinion about this character and you replied in a offensive way. I’m not wasting my time here anymore.

  • Mr Silvio

After the game released, we can find out that this:

“We may be making more adjustments moving forward”

    Meant this:

“We will be hiding more crotch shots.”

  • Mr Silvio

This just confirms that the ESRB had nothing to do with all the changes they have been making. I mean, they already had the T rating for several months already, so obviously, these last-minute changes weren’t made with age ratings in mind.

  • darkcg

Who cares. Brazilian women are top target for sexual tourism. So you get what you offer.

  • guyman

“You misunderstood but I’m not gonna explain what I meant, I just want you to know that you misunderstood and it’s like totally my opinion so like you don’t get to say anything”
Well, guess what? When you throw out your opinion in a public place, there’s a chance people are gonna talk about it one way or another. I’m not a prop in this world created for the sole purpose of just listening to your opinions and being quiet. If you post dumb “just opinions”, be prepared to get called out on them.

  • Barmont

And who are you to say my opinion is dumb?
    Some kind of Internet god?
When I throw my opinion in a public place, is BECAUSE I CAN, and I won’t accept any kind of racist censorship.
You can freely give your opinion about my comment, you just can’t be offensive.
That’s my country and my principles I’m defending, and I have the right to do that.
Know what? I wouldn’t further comment about this matter, but people who call me dumb just for giving my opinions don’t deserve to have the final say about anything.

  • Barmont

And characters like this are helping to perpetuate that idea, that’s why I’m being critic.
