Unfinished SNES Game Dorke and Ymp Finally Being Released on PC

Piko Interactive is finally releasing the unfinished SNES puzzle platformer, Dorke and Ymp to PC.

While the game is currently on Steam Greenlight, Piko Interactive managed to find members of the original Swedish developer, Norse, and worked tirelessly for over a year to essentially finish and polish the game, as it was never completed in the first place.

The source code obtained for the game was roughly half of its content, data gathered from the aforementioned programmer, composer, and artist that originally worked on Dorke and Ymp at developer Norse. With an entire new world added, the 40+ levels will take you at least 10 hours to complete.

The game is described as being fiendishly difficult, so much so the developer is even taking jabs at the Angry Video Game Nerd, saying “Sorry, AVGN is not good enough to play Dorke and Ymp.”

Finally, If you’re a purist and want as close to the original experience as possible, you can also buy the literal SNES cartridge for the game, cardboard box and all, via the Piko Interactive online store.
