Fans Mod 60FPS Back Into Tales of Zestiria PC

When Bandai Namco’s Tales of Zestiria launched for PC, like many traditional console-to-pc ports, had its framerate locked at 30FPS.

The publisher stated that 30FPS was the best setting, claiming at this framerate the game will run at its best and will have no further bugs or issues.

Now, an enterprising group of fans have crafted a mod that removes the game’s 30FPS cap, providing for a much smoother and fluid experience. You can view a short video showcasing the game’s improved framerate above.

The fan patch was released by modders Kaldaien, DrDaxxy, and Durante, with a final update from DrDaxxy which unlocks the game’s 60FPS. Alongside the framerate increase were various other fixes (which were developed for Fallout 4, actually), including VSYNC override, a pre-rendered frame limit, and triple buffering override. There’s also a framerate counter, an audio and aspect ratio fix, and the ability to take screenshots when achievements are earned.

You’ll want to make sure you have your game backed up, and then grab the mod. Finally, you can put the d3d9.dll, d3d9.ini, and tzfix.dll files into the SteamApps/common/Tales of Zestiria directory.

Tales of Zestiria launched for Windows PC on October 19th.
