Sekai Project Announces First Original Game, Japanese School Life

Sekai Project has announced their first completely original game (as they’ve been localizing games up until now), and it’s something that will probably make their fans happy.

Dubbed simply Japanese School Life, the PC-bound visual novel puts you into the shoes of a foreign exchange student who is finally realizing his dream of living and studying in Japan.

You’ll be living with two female Japanese students, Chiyoko Honda and Arisa Suzuki.

Japanese School Life is currently in development, and will be released sometime next spring on PC, via Steam.

    So…Basically Go Go Nippon?

  • Louis

“Completely original” game about a guy going to Japanese school living with multiple schoolgirls. Right.

    And Tokyo School Life o_o

  • Michael Richardson

Yeah, I’ll avoid this like I did with Go Go Nippon.

I wonder which seat is his one in class. I’m thinking second-to-last row next to a window

Painfully generic, to be blunt. Go Go Nippon at least had 2 girls with varying body type. Tokyo School Life also had variety.

I would be so pleased if the cover looked like this, but the actual game itself is a realistic slog about nothing but constant boring studying, cram school, testing stress, familial obligations, failure to maintain academic expectations, and eventual suicide.

Steam Trading Cards would probably still be worth something, though.

The game that shall separate the Weebs from the posers.

    why?
    seriously, why? for what purpose?
this is something that’s been done and it doesn’t seem like this will be even better than what’s already out there

it’s the kind of thing that poisons a well

So this is even more of a weeaboo simulator than Go Go Nippon?

Seriously, this just sounds awful. I wouldn’t play a Japanese VN like this, much less a western one.
