Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Online, the online multiplayer component of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, has been delayed.

The online component will now be made available on October 6th for consoles, and January of next year for PC users.

Some good news comes from this delay, however, as the PC version had its release date moved up to September 1st, the same day as the console release. If you pre-order the game on Steam, you’ll also get Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, entirely for free.

PC users who pre-order will also get bonus content in the form of a collector’s video (showing off behind the scenes footage) and a documentary, as well as a ‘Venom Snake’ emblem and Mother Base Staff DLC. This makes the Steam version of the game a excellent choice for big Metal Gear fans.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launches for PC, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on September 1st.
