Koei Tecmo has revealed some more tidbits for their upcoming Attack on Titan game for Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and PS Vita.

Speaking with Dengeki, Producer Hisashi Koinuma confirmed the game’s lead development platform is the Playstation 4 – meaning the PS3 and PS Vita versions are simply downscaled ports. Originally, the PS3 version was the base and the PS4 version was simply upscaled, but now they’ve switched entirely to having PS4 as the main development platform.

We’ve compiled some of the tidbits from the interview, as curated by Games Talk. First up, the game’s development was initiated back towards the end of 2013. Developer Omega Force is going to incorporate action elements like sacrificing your allies, as well as cooperating with allies – switching things up from your typical hunting or action game.

Series creator Hajime Isayama is also sharing feedback and opinions on their development, with a game following the original story. The game world is described as one where you can move around freely, instead of focusing on defeating enemies and moving along the story. Their Attack on TItan game is an action game at heart, but one that will let you follow the story while enjoying the action.

The combat in the game has been redone three times already (via trial and error), while the story, game systems, and extras seem to have gone off without a hitch. Omega Force is focusing on the feeling you get while using the 3D Maneuver Gear, especially when using it to wipe out titans. The ability to take down a titan is reportedly something any type of player can do, however, if you want to take a particularly formidable one down quickly, you’ll obviously need skill.

The story in the game will take off from the beginning of the original Attack on Titan story, although it remains to be seen if players will take up the role of series protagonist Eren Jaeger.

Koei Tecmo’s Attack on Titan game is set to launch some time in 2016 across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita in Japan, North America, and Europe.
